''Il Tigre'', internationally released as ''The Tiger and the Pussycat'', is a 1967 Italian comedy film directed by Dino Risi. For his performance, Vittorio Gassman won the David di Donatello for best actor; the film also won the David di Donatello for best producer. Plot In Rome, Francesco Vincenzini is married and has recently become a grandfather. The teenaged son of Francesco tries to kill himself after his affections are rejected by Carolina, a beautiful art student. Francesco decides to confront the young woman and condemn what she has done. Instead, he is seduced by her. His fling with Carolina makes him feel young again, but he begins to neglect his family and his work. Invited to run off to Paris with her, Francesco writes a farewell letter to his wife, Esperia, and leaves for the train station. Dino Risi (23 December 1916 – 7 June 2008) was an Italian film director. With Mario Monicelli, Luigi Comencini, Nanni Loy and Ettore Scola, he was one of the masters of ''commedia all'italiana''. Biography Risi was born in Milan. He had an older brother, Fernando, a cinematographer, and a younger brother, Nelo (1920–2015), a director and writer. Eleonora Brown
Eleonora Brown (born August 22, 1948, in Naples) is an Italian film actress. Her first, and perhaps biggest, role was at age twelve as the daughter of Sophia Loren's character in ''Two Women'' (1960). Career Brown's primary acting role was in ''Two Women''. In an interview about the movie, Brown stated that Sophia Loren, who played her mother, protected her from some of the underlying implications of the rape scene in the film. She also said that director Vittorio De Sica brought her to tears for the climatic final scene (upon hearing that the character played by Jean-Paul Belmondo had died) by saying that a telegram had arrived saying that Brown's parents had died in an accident. Caterina Boratto
Caterina Boratto (15 March 1915 – 14 September 2010) was an Italian film actress. She appeared in 50 films between 1936 and 1993. Life and career Born in Turin, Boratto studied at the Musical Lyceum in her hometown with the purpose of becoming a singer; noted by Guido Brignone, she made her debut in '' To Live'', alongside Tito Schipa. Thanks to the film's success, she immediately became a star in the Telefoni Bianchi genre, and also got a seven-year contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer which eventually dissolved because of the World War II.
