"Ik Junoon (Paint It Red)" (Hindi: इक जूनून; en, A Passion) is a song by composer trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy for the film ''Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara''. The song was performed by Vishal Dadlani, Alyssa Mendonsa and Gulraj Singh while the lyrics was penned by Javed Akhtar. Background Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy were asked to compose an Ambient house song by director Zoya Akhtar. They composed the song and gave it pop twist to it, so that it fits the situation well. The Vocoder was used for getting the robotic voice effect. The song is all about ''losing yourself in the moment''. The promo of the songs was released on 11 June 2011. Music video The La Tomatina festival of Spain was re-created for the shoot of the song. It was shot in Buñol, Valencia, Spain. Almost 16 tons of tomatoes were used for the shoot and they were flown in from Portugal. The import of tomatoes itself cost the producers about ₹ 1 crore. Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy
Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy () is an Indian musical trio consisting of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa. They have composed music for over 50 soundtracks across five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and English. Amongst the most critically acclaimed Indian musicians, the trio have won numerous awards, including National Film Award (India), Filmfare Awards, and IIFA Awards. They are often referred to as the "Amar Akbar Anthony" of the Hindi film music industry. Robotic Voice Effect
Robotic voice effects became a recurring element in popular music starting in the second half of the twentieth century. Several methods of producing variations on this effect have arisen. __TOC__ Vocoder The vocoder was originally designed to aid in the transmission of voices over telephony systems. In musical applications the original sounds, either from vocals or from other sources such as instruments, are used and fed into a system of filters and noise generators. The input is fed through band-pass filters to separate the tonal characteristics which then trigger noise generators. The sounds generated are mixed back with some of the original sound and this gives the effect. 4th Mirchi Music Awards
The 4th Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best of Hindi music from the year 2011. The ceremony was held on 21 March 2012 at the Bhavan's College Ground (Andheri), Mumbai and was hosted by Shaan and Usha Uthup.
