Ignacio Figueroa Y Mendieta
Joaquín Ignacio Figueroa y Mendieta (22 April 1808 – 11 March 1899) was a Spanish politician and businessman. Biography Born in Llerena on 22 April 1808, the only son of Luis Figueroa y Casaus (an ''afrancesado'' who moved to Marseille after May 1808 and made a considerable fortune investing in mining companies dedicated to lead extraction in Andalusia) and Luisa Mendieta. Ignacio would inherit his father's companies. He received an education in Paris, and, after working for a time as the representative of the interests of his father in Spain, he settled in Madrid in 1845. In 1852, he married Ana de Torres, viscountess of Irueste, forming a union between an affluent bourgeois—him—and an aristocrat in economic hardship, so he got to enter aristocratic circles. Pontedeume () is a municipality in the province of A Coruña in the autonomous community of Galicia in northwestern Spain. Gonzalo Figueroa y Torres (19 August 1861 - 18 October 1921) was a Spanish politician of the Restoration, and Mayor of Madrid between 1904 and 1905. He held noble titles such as ''Count of Mejorada del Campo'' and ''Duke of Las Torres''. The 1876 Spanish general election was held from Thursday, 20 January to Sunday, 23 January 1876 (for the Congress of Deputies) and from Tuesday, 1 February to Friday, 4 February 1876 (for the Senate of Spain, Senate), to elect the Constituent Cortes Generales#Restoration (1874–1930), Restoration Cortes of the Restoration (Spain), Kingdom of Spain.
