Ignacio Alonso
Ignacio Alonso Labat (born 2 August 1978), is a Uruguayan sports administrator and economist who is the president of the Uruguayan Football Association and the member of the FIFA Council since 2019. Biography Ignacio Alonso was born in Montevideo on 2 August 1978. He graduated as an economist from the University of the Republic. He worked as an agricultural producer. His activity at the level of sports leadership begins in Rampla Juniors, the painting of his loves, where he is a member of the Heritage Commission. He later joined the Executive Board of the AUF during the presidency of Sebastián Bauzá; and by Wilmar Valdez. He also had a brief walk through politics, as a sports advisor to candidate Luis Lacalle Pou in 2014. The FIFA Council (formerly the FIFA Executive Committee) is an institution of FIFA (the governing body of association football, futsal and beach football). It is the main decision-making body of the organization in the intervals of FIFA Congress. Its members are elected by the FIFA Congress. Rampla Juniors
Rampla Juniors Fútbol Club, commonly known as Rampla Juniors, is a Uruguayan football club based in Montevideo. The team was actively playing the 2021 season by January 2021. In their home stadium, Rampla won the Uruguayan championship in 1927. In 2019, the Rampla Juniors Fútbol Club had Estadio Olímpico, with 6,000 capacity, as its home stadium. Wilmar Valdez (born 10 July 1965) is a Uruguayan football executive who served as interim President of CONMEBOL between 11 December 2015 and 26 January 2016. He took up the position after the resignation of Juan Ángel Napout which was related to the 2015 FIFA corruption case. Between 2014 and 2018 Valdez served as president of the Uruguayan Football Association. He is also a member of the FIFA Council. Career Valdez was born in Tala on 10 July 1965.
