Idukki Township
Idukki is a township in Idukki district near to the district headquarter Painavu in the state of Kerala, southern India. The township consists of the towns of Cheruthoni, Painavu (district capital), Thadiyampadu, Idukki proper and Vazhathope. Idukki town is an administrative town but the district headquarters is located at Painavu. The town is also a tourist spot with Idukki dam, Asia's largest Arch dam and Cheruthony dam, Kerala's biggest dam. River Periyar flows through the heart of the town. Moolamattom
Moolamattom is the headquarters of Arakulam Panchayath in Thodupuzha Taluk, Idukki district in Kerala, India. It lies 22 km from Thodupuzha, on the banks of the Thodupuzha River, a tributary of the Muvattupuzha river. Moolamattom is famous for India's second largest underground hydroelectric power station - Idukki Power Station. Thankamany is a town at Idukki district, in Kerala state, India. In regional language thankamany is a name of a lady. It is a belief that a king Thopran gave dowry as land for his three daughters Thankamany, Kamashi, and Neeli. The place got for Thankamony is now known as Thankamany (place name), other nearby places are also known as Kamashi and Neelivayal (means land of Neeli). Thankamany town is located in a valley of three small hills Thamprankunnu, Kattadikavala and Kurishupara respectively. Adimali is a town in the Idukki district of Kerala, India. National Highway 185 (NH 185) is a highway in India running from Adimali to Kumily through Kattappana and ends in Adoor in Kerala. Periyar (river)
Periyar, , (meaning: ''big river'') is the longest river and the river with the largest discharge potential in the Indian state of Kerala. It is one of the few perennial rivers in the region and provides drinking water for several major towns. The Periyar is of utmost significance to the economy of Kerala.
