Ibolya Oláh
Ibolya Oláh (born 31 January 1978) is a Hungarian pop singer. She was the runner-up of the first series of Hungarian television singing competition series ''Megasztár''. Ibolya is of Romani people, Romani ancestry. She was born in Nyíregyháza and grew up in an orphanage in Tiszadob, where she studied vegetable gardening. She briefly attended a music school in Budapest but did not finish it. She learned to sing and to play the guitar mostly by herself. After a few unsuccessful entries at talent contests, she entered the talent show ''Megasztár'' (in its first season during 2003/04) and came second after Vera Tóth. Her debut album, released in 2004, reached No. 1 on the Hungarian album chart and stayed on the chart for 41 weeks. Her second album, released in the following year, was No.2 and her third album No. 4. Nyíregyháza (, sk, Níreďháza) is a city with county rights in northeastern Hungary and the county capital of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg. Hungary In The Eurovision Song Contest 2014
Hungary participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Their entry was selected through the national competition ''A Dal'', organised by the Hungarian broadcaster Magyar Televízió (MTV). András Kállay-Saunders represented Hungary with the song "Running", which qualified from the first semi-final and placed 5th in the final, scoring 143 points. It is the second best position ever for Hungary, after 4th place in their debut year 1994. Ferenc Molnár (born 1 February 1982, Szolnok), known by the stage name Caramel, is a Hungary, Hungarian singer. He is most well known for winning the second season of Megasztár. Personal life Caramel was born on 1 February 1982 in the town of Szolnok. He is of Romani people in Hungary, Hungarian Roma descent. At age 16, he moved to Törökszentmiklós with his stepfather, mother and siblings. His parents' relationship deteriorated after his brother was killed in a car crash, leading him to move out at age 17. Work was hard to find because of his herniated disc. He got his nickname Caramel from a friend when he received a negative response from a publisher. Musician In 2004, he applied to Megasztár. In 2005, Caramel narrowly won over fellow contestant Tamás Palcsó to become the first contest's winner. He started to compile his first album in his apartment. Zsuzsa Cserháti (born Zsuzsanna Cserháti June 22, 1948 – July 23, 2003) was a Hungarian pop-soul-jazz and rock singer described as having a unique and versatile voice. Life She studied classical ballet for ten years and started to sing in 1965. Her breakthrough started in 1972 with her debut song "He was not a painter"; she was popular singer of the 1970s. Her newborn child inspired her to sing the song "Édes kisfiam" (My Sweet Little Son) to the tune of the Italian instrumental hit Soleado, which became one of her major hits. In the 1980s, she disappeared from the musical and public life. She claimed that she had been victim of professional jealousy which surrounded her. Endre Fejes (15 September 1923 – 25 August 2015) was a Kossuth Prize and Attila József Prize-winning Hungarian author, and a founding member of the Digital Literary Academy, with his literary works often based on working life. Szilárd Borbély
Szilárd József Borbély (); 1 November 1963 – 19 February 2014) was a Hungarian academic, writer and poet. The Poetry Foundation identifies him as "one of the most important poets to emerge in post-1989 Hungary", who utilised several writing genres and predominantly dealt with subjects like grief, memory and trauma. Borbély suffered from "post-traumatic depression", related to the murder of his mother during a burglary in 2000 and the subsequent breakdown and death of his father, who had also been attacked.
