Iban Zubiaurre
Iban Zubiaurre Urrutia (born 22 January 1983) is a Spanish former footballer who played as a right-back. Club career Zubiaurre was born in Mendaro, Gipuzkoa. After making his Real Sociedad first-team debut during the 2004–05 season, he achieved notoriety as a result of a lawsuit in which his first club prevented him from playing for Athletic Bilbao for 14 months, due to an alleged illegality in his transfer between the two Basque sides. Zubiaurre, who represented Real Sociedad at youth level, was 'presented' as new Athletic Bilbao player in 2005 by the latter's president Fernando Lamikiz, despite still being under contract. He had no permission to rescind his link, which had a year left to run and a buy-out clause of €33 million (the former club had activated a one-season optional extension to his contract, while the latter asserted that he was a free agent). Mendaro
Mendaro is a town located in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the Autonomous Community of Basque Country, northern Spain. The Mendaro Valley is the town's namesake. There is little agreement on the origin or meaning of the word itself. Surrounded by mountains, the town is located in northeast Gipuzkoa near the Biscayan border. Officially founded in 1983, Mendaro is considered one of Gipuzkoa's youngest municipalities. In 2015, the population was estimated at 2,026 inhabitants. Real Madrid defended their La Liga title successfully after a 2–1 victory over Osasuna. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time.
