Ian Hogg (footballer)
Ian Campbell Hogg (born 15 December 1989) is a New Zealand footballer who is currently playing for Waitakere United in the ASB Premiership. He has represented New Zealand at the Olympic Games on two occasions, Beijing 2008 and London 2012. Hogg was also a member of the senior national side that was involved in qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil 2014. Club career Hogg was a member of the Auckland squad that contested the 2009 Club World Cup in United Arab Emirates in 2009. Following the tournament Hogg was named in the National Press's Team of the Tournament alongside Messi. In early August 2012 Hogg was signed by Major League Soccer side Portland Timbers after they traded Mike Chabala to D.C. United Hogg was released by Portland just three months later, failing to make a first-team appearance. Football at the 2008 Summer Olympics was held in Beijing and several other cities in the People's Republic of China from 6 to 23 August. Associations affiliated with FIFA were invited to send their full women's national teams and men's U-23 teams to participate. Men's teams were allowed to augment their squad with three players over the age of 23. For these games, the men competed in a 16-team tournament, and the women in a 12-team tournament. Football Australia is the governing body of soccer, futsal, and beach soccer within Australia, headquartered in Sydney. 2012–13 A-League
The 2012–13 A-League was the 36th season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the eighth season of the Australian A-League since its establishment in 2004. The 2012–13 season saw the introduction of a new Western Sydney-based team, the return of Newcastle Jets FC after their A-League licence was returned by FFA, and the end of Gold Coast United after they were removed from the competition at the end of the previous season. A-League Men (known as the Isuzu UTE A-League for sponsorship reasons) is the highest-level professional men's soccer league in Australia and New Zealand. At the top of the Australian league system, it is the country's premier men's competition for the sport. A-League Men was established in 2004 as the A-League by the Football Federation Australia (FFA) as a successor to the National Soccer League (NSL) and competition commenced in August 2005. Michael Shaun Chabala (born May 24, 1984) is an American former soccer player. Career Chabala played college soccer at the University of Washington, and also played with in the USL Premier Development League with both Yakima Reds and his hometown team, Fresno Fuego. Professional Chabala was drafted in the fourth round (44th overall) of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft by Houston Dynamo. He was loaned to Portland Timbers of the USL First Division during his first year with the Dynamo, making nine appearances.
