Iain Ward
Iain Campbell Ward (born 13 May 1983) is an English former professional footballer and youth team coach of League Two side Grimsby Town. As a player, he was defender, primarily a right back. He played in the Football League for Grimsby Town before going on to play for Non- League side Brigg Town. Career Ward was born in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire. He joined the youth system at Grimsby Town at the age of 12, and worked his way through to the first-team squad by Lennie Lawrence towards the close of the 2000–01 season. He made his debut a year later, in the last Division One match of the season, a 3–1 defeat away to Millwall on 21 April 2002. He was given a 12-month contract in June 2002, and went on to feature 14 times for The Mariners in all competitions before being released at the end of the 2003–04 campaign. Cleethorpes () is a seaside town on the estuary of the Humber in North East Lincolnshire, England with a population of 38,372 in 2020. It has been permanently occupied since the 6th century, with fishing as its original industry, then developing into a resort in the 19th century. Semi-professional sports are sports in which athletes are not participating on a full-time basis, but still receive some payment. Semi-professionals are not amateur because they receive regular payment from their team, but generally at a considerably lower rate than a full-time professional athlete. As a result, semi-professional players frequently have (or seek) full-time employment elsewhere. The Northern Premier League is an English football league that was founded in 1968. It has four divisions: the Premier Division (which stands at level 7 of the English football league system), Division One East, Division One West and Division One Midlands (which stand at level 8). The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. Lennie Lawrence
Robin Michael Lawrence (born 12 December 1947) is an English former football manager, player and football consultant who is non-executive director at EFL League Two side Hartlepool United. Lawrence was a semi-professional at Croydon, Carshalton Athletic and Sutton United before becoming caretaker manager of Plymouth Argyle in 1978. He went on to manage Charlton Athletic, Middlesbrough (during their debut season in the Premier League), Bradford City, Luton Town and Grimsby Town. Lawrence ended his managerial career with a three-year stint as boss of Cardiff City. He is one of a select few managers to have managed over 1,000 games.
