Lugano Addio
Lugano (, , ; lmo, label= Ticinese, Lugan ) is a city and municipality in Switzerland, part of the Lugano District in the canton of Ticino. It is the largest city of both Ticino and the Italian-speaking southern Switzerland. Lugano has a population () of , and an urban agglomeration of over 150,000. It is the ninth largest Swiss city. The city lies on Lake Lugano, at its largest width, and, together with the adjacent town of Paradiso, occupies the entire bay of Lugano. The territory of the municipality encompasses a much larger region on both sides of the lake, with numerous isolated villages. The region of Lugano is surrounded by the Lugano Prealps, the latter extending on most of the Sottoceneri region, the southernmost part of Ticino and Switzerland. Both western and eastern parts of the municipality share an international border with Italy. The Lugano District ( it, Distretto di Lugano also called Luganese) is a district of Canton of Ticino, southern Switzerland. The capital is the city of Lugano. It has a population of (as of ). Geography The Lugano District has an area, , of . Of this area, or 15.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while or 66.5% is forested. Of the rest of the land, or 15.3% is settled (buildings or roads), or 0.7% is either rivers or lakes and or 4.6% is unproductive land. Of the built-up area, housing and buildings made up 9.1% and transportation infrastructure made up 3.6%. Grancia
Grancia is a municipality in the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. History Grancia is first mentioned in 1309 as ''in loco Grancie''. Until 1825 it was part of the municipality of Carabbia. At the end of the 13th century, there was a religious institution in Grancia that was under the authority of the monastery of S. Maria in Torello (now part of Carona). According to tradition, in the Middle Ages, Grancia had the largest granary in the region. Most of the grain came from Brusimpiano and was ground in the mills along the Pian Scairolo river. The church of S. Carpoforo was probably built on the foundations of an older church in the 16th century. This church, along with S. Siro in Carabbia, belonged to the parish of S. Pietro in Pambio. Canobbio
Canobbio is a municipality in the circolo Vezia of the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. History Roman era inscription and cremation graves from the 3rd Century AD indicate that there was an earlier settlement near the modern village. Canobbio is first mentioned in 712 as ''Canobli''. Bioggio
Bioggio is a municipality in the district of Lugano, in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. The municipality was created in 2004 with the union of old town of Bioggio with Bosco Luganese and Cimo. Arogno
Arogno is a municipalities of Switzerland, municipality in the district of Lugano (district), Lugano in the Cantons of Switzerland, canton of Ticino, located south of Lake Lugano in the southernmost tip of Switzerland.
