''Danzig 777: I Luciferi'' () is the seventh album from Danzig. It was released in 2002 on Glenn Danzig's Evilive label and distributed by Spitfire Records. Danzig stated that this album was the last in a series of seven numbered albums, each with its own general concept. Over the months following the tour for this album, each of the other band members left to pursue other projects. Most notably, Joey Castillo joined Queens of the Stone Age; he appeared on Danzig's eleventh studio album ''Black Laden Crown'' (2017), but did not officially rejoin Danzig. Music and recording The song "Angel Blake" is named after the witch in the film ''The Blood on Satan's Claw''. The track "Wicked Pussycat" served as the album's first single. The original track listing, as reported by KNAC on December 22, 2001, featured several tracks that did not appear on the final album. Danzig (band)
Danzig is an American heavy metal band led by former Samhain and Misfits singer Glenn Danzig. Formed in 1987 in Lodi, New Jersey, the group early on became a unique voice in the rock scene, playing a bluesy, doom-laden metal with Glenn Danzig crooning in the style of Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley. Danzig's openly satanic lyrics and image stirred controversy. After a major hit with a live version of its 1988 song "Mother", the band experimented with industrial music but later returned to heavy metal. ''The Blood on Satan's Claw'' is a 1971 British supernatural horror film directed by Piers Haggard and starring Patrick Wymark, Linda Hayden, and Barry Andrews. Set in early 18th-century England, it follows the residents of a rural village whose youth fall under the influence of a demonic presence after a local farmer unearths a mysterious deformed skull buried in a field. The screenplay for the film was originally written by Robert Wynne-Simmons as an anthology of horror stories set in a small village, and had the working title of ''Satan's Skin''. After director Haggard was hired for the project, he and Wynne-Simmons reworked the screenplay into a singular cohesive narrative. Verotik is an American comic book company founded by heavy metal music, heavy metal/horror punk musician Glenn Danzig. The comics are aimed toward Adult comics, adult readers as they often contain imagery of a sexual and/or violent nature. The company's two longest-running titles were ''Verotika'' (15 issues) and ''Satanika'' vols. 1 & 2 (total of 13 issues).
