I Hate Fairyland
''I Hate Fairyland'' is a black comedy fantasy comic written and illustrated by Skottie Young, and published by Image Comics, which started publication in October 2015. The comic follows Gertrude, a woman who was transported to a mystical world called Fairyland as a child. Thirty years later, Gertrude is now an un-aging, violent misanthrope who, alongside her reluctant guide and friend Larry, constantly tries and fails to return to the real world. While the comic went on hiatus after the release of Issue #20 in July 2018, a revival series written by Young and illustrated by Brett Bean began in November 2022, still under the name ''I Hate Fairyland'' but starting with a new #1 issue. The series focuses on Gert now an adult going back to Fairyland under William Wiggans orders to turn it into an amusement park. ''Bitch Planet'' is an American comic book published by Image Comics, created by writer Kelly Sue DeConnick and artist Valentine De Landro. The series is a feminist portrayal of the exploitation film genre and takes place in a dystopian reality, where non-compliant women are sent to an off-planet prison. The original series published 10 issues between December 2014 and April 2017, followed by a five-issue limited series published from June to October 2017. Publication history DeConnick and De Landro first met at Fan Expo Canada in Toronto. DeConnick liked De Landro's work (particularly the heavy use of blacks and shades to portray character emotion) after which the two exchanged information and planned to collaborate on a Marvel comic. A quest, or mission, is a task in video games that a player-controlled character, party, or group of characters may complete in order to gain a reward. A supervillain or supercriminal is a variant of the villainous stock character that is commonly found in American comic books, usually possessing superhuman abilities. A supervillain is the antithesis of a superhero. Supervillains are often used as foils to present a daunting challenge to a superhero. Battle royal (; also royale) traditionally refers to a fight involving many combatants that is fought until only one fighter remains standing, usually conducted under either boxing or wrestling rules. In recent times, the term has been used in a more general sense to refer to any fight involving large numbers of people who are not organized into factions.
