"I Forgot to Remember to Forget" is a 1955 rockabilly and country song, first recorded by Elvis Presley written by Stan Kesler and Charlie Feathers. It was Elvis' first no. 1 record nationally. The single was the fifth and final single released on Sun Records before Elvis moved to RCA Records. Background The song was recorded at Sun Studio on July 11, 1955, by Elvis Presley, Scotty Moore, Bill Black, and Johnny Bernero on drums, and released on August 20, 1955, along with "Mystery Train" (Sun 223). It was first re-released along with "Mystery Train" by HMV in New Zealand in November 1955, the first appearance of Elvis Presley on 12” vinyl internationally (MCLP 6001). It was re-released by RCA Victor (#47-6357) in December, 1955, after Elvis switched to that label. Scotty Moore's guitar had a Nashville steel guitar sound, and Bill Black played a clip-clop rhythm. ''The Survivors'' is a live album by country/rockabilly musicians Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis, released in 1982 on Columbia Records. Contents The album was recorded live on stage on April 23, 1981, in Böblingen, near Stuttgart, West Germany, when all three singers, who had been labelmates at Sun Records at the beginning of their careers, were touring Europe. The show had initially been meant to feature only Cash, but Lewis and Perkins joined him onstage on a night when they did not have a concert scheduled themselves. Without rehearsal, the three performed a number of songs they were known for - including Cash's " Get Rhythm" and Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes" - as well as slightly more obscure compositions.
