Camouflage (band)
Camouflage is a German synth-pop trio consisting of lead singer Marcus Meyn (b. May 2, 1966), Heiko Maile and Oliver Kreyssig. Their only Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hit was "The Great Commandment (song), The Great Commandment", which reached No. 59 in early 1989, and spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Dance Club Songs chart. They also had two minor dance hits in 1989. History In 1983, Heiko Maile, Marcus Meyn, Oliver Kreyssig, and Martin Kähling, four friends from Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, formed the band Licensed Technology. It was short lived, as Martin Kähling left in 1984. Soon after, the remaining three members renamed themselves "Camouflage", inspired by a Yellow Magic Orchestra song of the same name. ''Sensor'' is the sixth studio album from German synthpop group Camouflage, released on May 26, 2003 by Island Records. It is the band's first album since 1995's ''Spice Crackers'', and the first to feature Oliver Kreyssig since 1989's ''Methods of Silence''. The album charted at #26 in Germany. Background Former band member Oliver Kreyssig had remained in contact with the band following his departure, and through Polydor Music (who had now acquired rights to the band's back catalogue), he began indirectly working with the band on a greatest hits album ('' Best of Camouflage: We Stroke the Flames'') in 1997. He then rejoined the band in 1998, and they began work on their next studio album. A single, "Thief", was released in July 1999, and it was intended to be the lead single from the new album. Humate was until 1996 a German trance group, then just the German record producer Gerret Frerichs, who has released singles with record labels such as MFS and Superstition. Kim Sanders (born October 24, 1968 in East Chicago, Indiana) is an American singer and songwriter based in Germany. Sanders began to release singles as a solo artist in 1994 and wrote songs for other musicians. In 1993 and 1994, she released three of her singles, "Show Me", "Tell Me That You Want Me" and "Ride". In 1998, Sanders became the front-woman of the German dance project Culture Beat, on the album '' Metamorphosis''. ''Relocated'' is the seventh studio album from German synthpop group Camouflage, released on August 28, 2006 by SPV Records. Three singles were released from the record: "Motif Sky", "Something Wrong", and "The Pleasure Remains". Reviews ''Release Magazine'' gave the album a mostly positive review, stating "...slightly more pop tuned, but still holds all the Camouflage trademark elements. Personal vocal performances, gloom and pop all in one. The single "Motif Sky" is one of the tracks that have blossomed through repeated listening, as have "We Are Lovers" and my current favourite "Dreaming".
