''I'' and ''II'' (pronounced "one" and "two", stylized as ''. I :'' and '': I I .'') are the twelfth and thirteenth studio albums by American guitarist John Frusciante. Both albums were released on February 3, 2023, through Avenue 66 (Acid Test Records). ''I'' is a vinyl-only release containing seven tracks, while ''II'' is a digital and CD release featuring more material. Frusciante stated that the former album would include an exclusive track and that the lack of certain material is due to the fact that certain material on ''II'' contains "sounds that can not be pressed on vinyl". John Frusciante
John Anthony Frusciante (; born March 5, 1970) is an American musician, best known as the guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers across three stints since 1988. He has released 11 solo albums and 7 EPs, ranging in style from acoustic guitar to electronic music. Frusciante joined the Chili Peppers at the age of 18 after the death of guitarist Hillel Slovak, and first appeared on their album '' Mother's Milk'' (1989). His second album with the band, ''Blood Sugar Sex Magik'' (1991), was their breakthrough success. Overwhelmed by the band's newfound popularity, he quit in 1992. ''Maya'' is the eleventh studio album by American musician John Frusciante, released on October 23, 2020 through Timesig, a label owned by Venetian Snares. The album was released as a digital album, on limited edition vinyl and compact disc, and is the first full-length instrumental electronic album for Frusciante to be released under his own name. The LP went on to have another pressing on lilac purple vinyl in March 2021. On August 31, 2020, "Amethblowl" was uploaded to Frusciante's Bandcamp page for streaming and as a pre-order bonus.
