ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The ISU Challenger Series Synchronized Skating is a separate competition series in the discipline of synchronized skating. History The ISU Council decided to create the series at its February 2014 meeting. Eleven competitions were selected in June 2014. The Triglav Trophy dropped out by October 10, 2014, resulting in a series composed of ten events. The Nebelhorn Trophy, Finlandia Trophy, Ondrej Nepela Memorial, and Golden Spin of Zagreb are the "core group". The event criteria were published in April 2014, and revised in August 2014. Figure Skating Competition
A figure skating competition is a judged sports competition in figure skating. 2014–15 ISU Challenger Series
The 2014–15 ISU Challenger Series was held from September to December 2014. It was the inaugural season of a group of senior-level international figure skating competitions ranked below the Grand Prix series. Each event included a minimum of three disciplines ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing). Eleven competitions were selected in June 2014. Budapest Trophy
The Budapest Trophy is a senior- and junior-level figure skating competition held in Budapest, Hungary. The inaugural event was part of the 2020–21 ISU Challenger Series. 2018 CS Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy
The 2018 CS Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy was held from August 1, 2018 to August 5, 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. It is part of the 2018–19 ISU Challenger Series. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Entries The International Skating Union published the list of entries on July 25, 2018. Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy
The Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy (or ''Asian Trophy''; previously known as the Asian Figure Skating Championships) is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the Asian Skating Union. Skaters compete in the disciplines of men's and ladies' singles across three levels: senior, junior, and novice. Following an ASU meeting in Changchun, China during the 6th Asian Winter Games 2007, the ASU revised the name of the competition from the Asian Figure Skating Championships to the Asian Figure Skating Trophy, with the International Skating Union approving the change. Since 2013, the event has been titled the Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy and skaters from other continents have participated. In 2018 this event was part of the 2018–19 ISU Challenger Series. 2021–22 ISU Challenger Series
The 2021–22 ISU Challenger Series was held from September to December 2021. It was the eighth season that the ISU Challenger Series, a group of senior-level international figure skating competitions ranked below the ISU Grand Prix, was held. Events The 2021–22 Challenger Series was composed of eight events. The previously announced final Olympic qualifier (Nebelhorn Trophy) was included in the schedule. Cancelled Lost status In the 2021 Asian Trophy, only men's singles and women's singles had international participants, and the total number of ISU member countries represented in the event was 9. These conditions do not satisfy the requirement to be a Challenger Series event. 2020–21 ISU Challenger Series
The 2020–21 ISU Challenger Series was scheduled to be held from September 9 to December 5, 2020. It was the seventh season that the ISU Challenger Series, a group of senior-level international figure skating competitions ranked below the ISU Grand Prix, was held. Originally a series of ten events, the 2020–21 Challenger Series featured only two individual events, with six events cancelled and two postponed to an unknown future date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
