IL I BUL
Idrottslaget i Bondeungdomslaget i Oslo (also BUL, Oslo) is a sports club in Oslo, Norway, founded on 8 January 1913. It is one of several branches of Bondeungdomslaget i Oslo, a local chapter of Noregs Mållag and Noregs Ungdomslag. IL i BUL has sections for track and field athletics and skiing, and has previously been active in orienteering, football, and handball. Track and field BUL is one of the leading track and field clubs in Norway. Well known athletes are the long distance runners Ingrid Kristiansen (World Champion in 1987), Thor Helland, Knut Brustad, Øyvind Dahl and Moroccan citizens Khalid Skah (Olympic Champion in 1992) and Abderrahim Goumri. Bislett Stadion
Bislett Stadium ( no, Bislett stadion) is a sports stadium in Oslo, Norway. Bislett is Norway's most well known sports arena internationally, with 15 speed skating world records and more than 50 track and field world records having been set here. The original stadium was demolished in 2004 and construction of a new stadium was completed by the summer of 2005. The New Bislett Stadium was designed by C.F. Møller Architects. History Bislett Stadium lies on the site of a 19th-century brick works, which was bought by the Municipality of Kristiania (Oslo) in 1898, and turned into a sports field in 1908. The merchant, speed skater, gymnast and sports organizer Martinus Lørdahl was instrumental in facilitating the construction of the first bleachers, begun in 1917 and completed in 1922 along with the new club house. Ezinne Okparaebo
Ezinne Okparaebo (born 3 March 1988) is a Norwegian sprinter. She is Scandinavia's fastest woman ever over 60m and 100m. Okparaebo has won the 100m national title 13 times. She moved to Norway as a nine-year old and grew up in Ammerud. She visited the Haugen skole, where her sprinting talent was discovered on a sports school day. She has been the top female sprinter in Norway since 2005, and is competing for the club IL Norna-Salhus. She won the silver medal at 60 metres for women in the 2009 European Athletics Indoor Championships and the bronze medal in the same discipline in 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships. Cross-country Skiing (sport)
Competitive cross-country skiing encompasses a variety of race formats and course lengths. Rules of cross-country skiing are sanctioned by the International Ski Federation and by various national organizations. International competitions include the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, the FIS Cross-Country World Cup, and at the Winter Olympic Games. Such races occur over homologated, groomed courses designed to support classic (in-track) and freestyle events, where the skiers may employ skate skiing. It also encompasses cross-country ski marathon events, sanctioned by the Worldloppet Ski Federation, and cross-country ski orienteering events, sanctioned by the International Orienteering Federation. Ola Skarholt
Ola Skarholt (30 November 1939 – 18 June 2017), was a Norwegian orienteering competitor. He became Relay World Champion in 1970 as a member of the Norwegian winning team, which also consisted of Stig Berge, Per Fosser and Åge Hadler. Skarholt placed fourth in the individual contest. He also won bronze medals in the relay in the 1966 and 1968 World Orienteering Championships. Skarholt represented the clubs SK Freidig and IL i BUL. His results at the include an individual gold medal in 1965. Skarholt was educated at the Norwegian Institute of Technology, and worked as engineer in the electric power industry. Åge Hadler
Åge Hadler (born 14 August 1944) is a Norwegian orienteering competitor, winner of the 1966 and 1972 individual World Orienteering Championships, relay champion from 1970, and individual bronze medalist from 1968. Early life and career Hadler was born in Bergen as the son of Aage Hadler and Ruth Karin Rosendahl. He married fellow orienteer Ingrid Thoresen in 1968. His first sports club was Bergens Turnforening. He studied at the University of Oslo, and graduated as cand.real. degree in 1970. Sports career Hadler had his breakthrough in competitive orienteering in 1966. Bislett Games
The Bislett Games is an annual track and field meeting at the Bislett Stadium in Oslo, Norway. Previously one of the IAAF Golden League events, it is now part of the Diamond League. History The first international athletics meeting at Bislett was held in 1924. Until 1937 the competitions are known as "The American Meetings". Different organizers staged the meetings between 1947 and 1965 until the three athletics associations BUL, Vidar and Tjalve formed the Bislett Alliance. At this year Arne Haukvik founded the Bislett Games. He was a former politician and director of the meeting, who used to invite the athletes, sponsors and the press to his home for his traditional "strawberry party" the day before the event each year. SK Vidar
Sportsklubben Vidar is a Norwegian sports club from Oslo. It has sections for track and field, triathlon, and archery. Organization The club was founded in 1919. It was later a member of the Workers' Sports Federation before the war. It arranges Oslo Marathon, and also the Grete Waitz Run from 1984 to 2003 and the cross-country skiing race Vidar Run from 1933 to 1993. Einar Kristian Tveitå (born 22 February 1973) is a retired Norwegian discus thrower. Biography He finished twelfth in the discus final at the 2001 World Championships with a throw of 59.11 metres.
