1968 World Orienteering Championships
The 2nd World Orienteering Championships were held in Linköping, Sweden, 28–29 September 1968. The championships had four events; individual contests for men and women, and relays for men and women. Linköping

Veijo Tahvanainen
Veijo Tahvanainen (born 27 September 1938 in Ilomantsi) is a Finnish orienteering competitor. He received a silver medal in the ''relay event'' and finished 10th in the ''individual event'' at the 1968 World Orienteering Championships in Linköping. In 1970 he finished 14th in the individual event, and 4th with the Finnish relay team. At the 1972 World Orienteering Championships in Staré Splavy, he placed 9th in the individual contest, and was part of the Swiss relay team (which was disqualified). Raila Kerkelä ('' née'' Hovi; born 13 June 1941 in Vehkalahti) is a Finnish orienteering competitor. She received two medals at the 1966 World Orienteering Championships in Fiskars, a bronze medal in the individual contest (won by Ulla Lindkvist, 35 participants), and a silver medal in the relay with the Finnish team. Tuula Hovi (born 14 November 1939) is a Finnish orienteering competitor who competed in the 1960s. She participated at the first European Orienteering Championships in Løten in 1962, where she placed fourth in the individual course. At the 1964 Championships in Le Brassus, she placed sixth in the individual course, and also participated in the Finnish relay team which placed fifth. At the 1968 World Orienteering Championships in Linköping she placed 11th in the individual course, and won a bronze medal in the ''relay event'' for the Finnish team, together with Pirjo Seppä and Raila Kerkelä. Ola Skarholt
Ola Skarholt (30 November 1939 – 18 June 2017), was a Norwegian orienteering competitor. He became Relay World Champion in 1970 as a member of the Norwegian winning team, which also consisted of Stig Berge, Per Fosser and Åge Hadler. Skarholt placed fourth in the individual contest. He also won bronze medals in the relay in the 1966 and 1968 World Orienteering Championships. Skarholt represented the clubs SK Freidig and IL i BUL.
