SV Spakenburg
SV Spakenburg is a Dutch football club based in Bunschoten. It was founded in 1931 and currently competes in the Tweede Divisie. It shares a football rivalry with IJsselmeervogels that is also from Bunschoten-Spakenburg. History The club was founded on 15 August 1931 as ''Stormvogels'' and soon renamed ''Windvogels''. In 1947 it merged with a local gymnastics team to become Sportverening Spakenburg. It joined the Eerste Klasse in the 1970–71 season under coach Joop van Basten, father of legendary Dutch striker Marco van Basten, and clinched their first league title in 1974. Hoofdklasse
The Vierde Divisie, formerly known as Hoofdklasse () is the second-highest league of amateur football in the Netherlands, and the fifth tier in general. Background The league is divided into two sections: Saturday and Sunday. This is a result of the traditional pillarisation ( nl, verzuiling), the segregation of Dutch society. The ''Saturday'' clubs are mainly Protestant Christian clubs, who were not allowed to play on Sunday. The ''Sunday'' clubs were in general Catholic and working class clubs, whose players had to work on Saturday and therefore could only play on Sunday. Although the pillarisation ended in the 1960s and 1970s, the clubs and the league have maintained this division. Dogan Corneille
Dogan Corneille (born 28 February 1974) is a Dutch football manager and former player, who is the current head coach of Tweede Divisie club Excelsior Maassluis. His position as a player was defensive midfielder. Football career Player Corneille was a youth player for VVV-Venlo. On 27 Augustus 1994 he played his first games in the senior squad against FC Den Bosch, in a game that Venlo won 4–3. He played five seasons for VVV in the Eerste Divisie, as a base player on the squad and became its captain. In 1999 he moved to FC Eindhoven, where he played another two seasons in the Eerste Divisie. In 2001 started playing in lower leagues for FC Hilversum, Kozakken Boys, IJsselmeervogels, and BVV Barendrecht. With IJsselmeervogels, Corneille won the national championship for amateurs in 2006. Sportpark De Westmaat
Sportpark De Westmaat is a sporting complex located in Spakenburg, Netherlands. It is home to football clubs IJsselmeervogels and SV Spakenburg. The complex has eight fields. There are two grandstands around the main field. There are also indoor facilities for bad weather. The "Red" side The "red" side of the complex is home to ametuer club IJsselmeervogels. In the 2016–17 Derde Divisie, the club averaged about 2,000 fans per game as they secured promotion to the Tweede Divisie. In addition the "red" side has 3 other fields. Main stadium The main stadium has a capacity of 9,000; making it one of the largest in the Tweede Divisie. There is also an LED board where sponsors of IJsselmeervogels can advertise by means of a message on LED boarding. This was unique in amateur football at the time of installation. Willem Leushuis
Willem Leushuis ( Eindhoven, 18 March 1952) is a Dutch football coach and former professional footballer. Career Footballer Willem Leushuis played for FC Wageningen, FC Den Bosch, and FC Eindhoven in the Netherlands and for AS Verbroedering Geel, FC Beringen, and FC Diest in Belgium. Football coach Leushuis then became coach at Willem II (1992–1995), as the assistant of Jan Reker and coach of the second team. ASWH, short for Altijd Sterker Worden Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, is an association football club from Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Netherlands. The club was founded in 1929. The club won section championships in 1949, 1959, 1961, 1970, 1883, 1999, 2001, 2002, and 2005. In 2005 it also won the Dutch Championship of Amateur Soccer and the Dutch Championship of Saturday Soccer. Spakenburg
Spakenburg is a Dutch village north of Bunschoten. Spakenburg is formally called Bunschoten-Spakenburg since its fusion with Bunschoten. The village lies south of the IJsselmeer in the municipality Bunschoten, Utrecht province, Utrecht. It is one of the few places left in the Netherlands where some women still wear local traditional clothes. In the 20th century, the two villages have grown quickly, and since about 1965 they form one single town, officially named Bunschoten. The Association football, football teams IJsselmeervogels and SV Spakenburg are located there, and contest one of the most popular local rivalries in Dutch amateur football. Tweede Divisie
Tweede Divisie ( en, Second Division) is the highest amateur (and historically the lowest professional) football league in the Netherlands. It was established in 1956, together with the Eredivisie and the Eerste Divisie. Between 1956 and 1960 and between 1962 and 1966, the league consisted of two divisions, Tweede Divisie A and Tweede Divisie B. The league was disbanded in 1971. Six clubs were promoted to the Eerste Divisie ( De Volewijckers, FC Eindhoven, FC VVV, Fortuna Vlaardingen, PEC and Roda JC), while the other eleven teams became amateur clubs.
