IJP Road
Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed Road ( ur, کرنال شیر خان شہید روڈ), previously known as the IJP Road ( ur, آئی جے پی روڈ), or the IJ Principal Road, is one of the busiest roads in the Islamabad–Rawalpindi metropolitan area in Pakistan, connecting Islamabad to Rawalpindi. It also serves as a route for traffic coming from Punjab and Azad Kashmir going towards Taxila, Attock, and onwards to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is named IJ Principle Road because it is the road that was going to be between the never-built Sector J and Sector I of Islamabad. It starts at N-5 National Highway in the west and ends at Faizabad Interchange in the east, where it meets the Islamabad Expressway and Murree Road. The total length of the road is 10.2 kilometers. Murree Road
Murree Road (), alternatively known as Benazir Bhutto Road, is a major road that runs from Islamabad and Rawalpindi to Murree in Pakistan. It passes through Rawalpindi's downtown area, and has been a hotspot for various political and social events. Names It was originally named Raza Shah Pehlavi Road in the 1960s, after Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran, who was the first head of state to visit Pakistan. However, it has always been known as Murree Road since it eventually led to the nearby hill station of Murree. On 20 May 2008, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani announced that the federal government had decided to rename the road after Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated at the nearby Liaqat National Bagh on 27 December 2007. Islamabad Expressway
The Islamabad Expressway ( ur, ), sometimes Islamabad Highway) is a major north-south expressway in Islamabad, Capital Territory, Pakistan. The expressway provides quick access between Islamabad and Rawalpindi, connecting the national capital with the N-5 National Highway. It stretches from Zero Point Interchange with the Kashmir Highway in Islamabad to Rawat, Islamabad Capital Territory on the N-5 National Highway. The total length of the expressway is , with lanes varying from six to ten. In 2007, the Capital Development Authority proposed to build three new interchanges on the highway at Koral Chowk, Lehtrar Road and Dhok Kala Khan Road to make it signal free.
