IHOS Music Theatre and Opera is a Tasmanian opera company was established in Hobart in 1990, by composer and artistic director Constantine Koukias, and production director Werner Ihlenfeld to create original music-theatre and opera works. The Lunch Box
''The Lunch Box'' is a chamber opera by Thai composer Thanapoom Sirichang and Thai librettist Bringkop Vora-Urai. Composed entirely in Tasmania under the guidance of IHOS Artistic Director Constantine Koukias, ''The Lunch Box'' may be the first opera sung in Thai to blend traditional Thai music and contemporary Western opera. A Buddhist tale ''The Lunch Box'' tells the story of a mother's devotion to her only son, a fundamentally good farmer whose rage at the untimely death of his father has tragic consequences. This much-loved Thai Buddhist folk tale is believed by the librettist to be based on an actual incident that occurred in Thailand 300 years ago. Kate Moore (born 1979) is an Australian composer currently based in the Netherlands. Maria Grenfell
Maria Grenfell (born 1969) is an Australian music teacher and composer of New Zealand origin. Early life and education Maria Grenfell was born in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia in 1969. She grew up and was educated in Christchurch, New Zealand, where she graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Master of Music degree. She subsequently went to the US, where she completed a Master of Arts at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, and a doctorate from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, while also lecturing in music there. Michael Lampard
Michael Robert Garth Lampard (born March 1986) is an Australian opera singer, conductor and composer born in Hobart, Tasmania. Education and early acclaim Lampard undertook vocal study from a young age and acquired early notoriety as a boy soprano, performing in national broadcasts and with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. As his voice matured it settled into the baritone register and became quite an unusually robust and powerful voice for his early age. He continued his study at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music with his lifelong teacher Suzanne Ortuso, where he completed a bachelor of music with first class honors. The Priest's Passion
''The Priest's Passion'' is a one scene chamber opera by Australian composer Matthew Dewey (born 1984), and was first produced by the IHOS Music Theatre Laboratory together with the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music in September 2004.
