ICF Canoe Slalom World Rankings
The ICF Canoe Slalom World Rankings are the performance-based rankings of canoe slalom athletes competing in the official International Canoe Federation (ICF) Ranking Series of events. It is used to determine the starting order for qualification at international events, most notably World Cups and World Championships, across all current Olympic disciplines, with athletes starting in the reverse order of their ICF Canoe Slalom Ranking. The rankings are updated quarterly but were frozen from December 2019 to September 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Ranking method Rankings are determined by an athlete's average score across their 5 best results in the 2 year period directly beforehand. The athlete with the lowest average score will be ranked number 1 in their respective Canoe Slalom (C1M, C1W, K1M, K1W, C2M or C2Mx). International Canoe Federation
The International Canoe Federation (ICF) is the umbrella organization of all national canoe organizations worldwide. It is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, and administers all aspects of canoe sport worldwide. 157 countries are affiliated with the ICF after seven national federations were added at the 2008 ICF Congress in Rome. In light of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the ICF suspended athletes from Russia and Belarus from competing at any International Canoe Federation events, and suspended all officials from Russia and Belarus from officiating at any event sanctioned by ICF, and from attending or taking part in any ICF meetings, committees, and forums. Denis Gargaud Chanut
Denis Gargaud Chanut (born 22 July 1987) is a French slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level in C1 since 2004. Between 2009 and 2011 he also competed in the C2 category alongside Fabien Lefèvre. He won a gold medal in the Canoeing at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's slalom C-1, C1 event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Gargaud Chanut also won nine medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with four golds (C1: 2011, C1 team: 2021, C2 team: 2010, 2011), three silvers (C1 team: 2009, C2: 2010, 2011) and two bronzes (C1 team: 2013, 2017). Mallory Franklin
Mallory Franklin (born 19 June 1994) is a British slalom canoeist who has competed internationally since 2009. She competes in both Kayak (K1/seated double-blade paddle) and Canadian Canoe (C1/kneeling single-blade paddle) classes, as well as the Extreme Canoe (XC) discipline. She won silver at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the Women's C1 event. She is a five-time World and seven-time European champion, with particular success in team events. Jessica Esther "Jess" Fox (born 11 June 1994) is a French-born Australian world and Olympic champion slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2008. She qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where she made her Olympic debut at 18 years of age, winning a silver medal in the K1 event. She won a bronze medal in the same event four years later in Rio de Janeiro, and again at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Roberto Colazingari (born 7 May 1993) is an Italian slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2008. He is from Subiaco and trains with C.S. Carabinieri, coached by 2012 Olympic Champion Daniele Molmenti. Roberto competed internationally in the C2 discipline in 2011 and 2012, now competing solely in C1. Colazingari won two bronze medals in the C1 team event at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, earning them in 2022 and 2023. Lukáš Rohan (; born 30 May 1995) is a Czech slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2010. He is from Mělník, Czech Republic but lives and trains in Prague. Lukáš now competes solely in the C1 discipline, however he competed in the C2 discipline alongside Adam Svoboda and Martin Říha at different times between 2010 and 2015.
