ICC World Cricket League Division Two
ICC World Cricket League Division Two forms part of the World Cricket League (WCL) system. Like all other divisions, WCL Division Two is contested as a standalone tournament rather than as an actual league. Unlike lower divisions, however, matches in Division Two hold list-A status. The inaugural Division Two tournament was held in 2007, hosted by Namibia and featured six teams, the top four of which progressed to the 2009 World Cup Qualifier. The 2011 tournament, played in Dubai, similarly qualified the top four teams for the 2014 World Cup Qualifier, but also promoted the top two teams to the Intercontinental Cup and the WCL Championship. The 2015 Division Two event, again hosted by Namibia, served only to qualify teams for the Intercontinental Cup and WCL Championship. ICC World Cricket League Championship
The ICC World Cricket League Championship was the top division of the World Cricket League (WCL). It formed the qualification process for the Cricket World Cup. The WCL Championship was originally known as World Cricket League Division One, and was played twice under that name ( in 2007 and 2010). Those were hosted as standalone tournaments, but a new format was subsequently introduced in which competing teams play multiple games against each other over several years (mirroring the Intercontinental Cup, a first-class competition). All matches in the WCL Championship hold List A status, while matches between higher-ranking teams hold One Day International (ODI) status. ICC Cricket World Cup League 2
The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 is an international cricket competition contested in the One Day International format and the second level of the three-league Cricket World Cup qualification system which was introduced in 2019. Seven teams participate and either directly advance to the World Cup Qualifier or advance to the World Cup Qualifier Play-off for another chance to enter the Qualifier. Two teams from the Qualifier qualify for the next Cricket World Cup. League 2 and the Qualifier Play-off replaced the ICC World Cricket League Championship and ICC World Cricket League Division Two for determining World Cup qualification. Craig George Williams (born 25 February 1984) is a Namibian cricketer. He also currently runs a cricket shop in Namibia and also works as a quality/quantity surveyor writing reports for insurance companies as well as loss adjusting. He also opened a cricket academy in Windhoek which is also eventually regarded as Namibia's first state of the art indoor training facility. Gerrie Snyman (born 30 April 1981) is a Namibian former cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He played five One Day Internationals in the Cricket World Cup in 2003, and also played in the 2005 ICC Trophy. He has also played List A cricket and first-class cricket. Snyman retired from cricket in February 2018. A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches.
