i24NEWS is an English language international news television channel owned by Altice USA. It is the English version of i24NEWS. The network began broadcasting in the US on February 13, 2017. It is live from 6 to 10p.m. Eastern Time and at other times broadcasts from Israel. History Original English channel The original channel went live on 17 July 2013. Franck Melloul, the CEO, stated that it would battle prejudice and ignorance about Israel with “facts and diversity.” Arab Israeli journalist Lucy Aharish was the lead anchor of the original English-language branch of the channel from July 2013 until she resigned in January 2016. Her show, ''The News Today'', was replaced by ''News Now with Merav Savir''. ''News Now'' was cancelled after only a few months of broadcasting, ahead of changes to the network. Michael Shure (born April 18, 1966) is an American politician and former national correspondent for Nexstar Media Group's national newscast on ''NewsNation.'' He was previously the Senior National Correspondent and Anchor for i24NEWS, Cheddar News, and an original member of, and regular host on '' The Young Turks''. Al Jazeera America was an American pay television news channel owned by the Al Jazeera Media Network. The channel was launched on August 20, 2013, to compete with CNN, HLN, MSNBC, Fox News, and in certain markets RT America. It was Al Jazeera's second entry into the U.S. television market, after the launch of beIN Sports in 2012. Dan Raviv
Dan Raviv (born 1954) is an American journalist. Career Raviv is the senior Washington correspondent for i24 News, headquartered in Tel Aviv and New York. Previously he was with CBS News as their national correspondent and was heard regularly on the CBS Radio Network. He had also done TV reports from Washington, D.C. on the ''CBS Evening News,'' and he narrated the 1997-98 revival of the CBS TV news shorts series for children ''In the News''. David Martin Shuster (born July 22, 1967) is an American television journalist and talk radio host. He most recently served as principal anchor and managing editor for i24 News, previously serving as an anchor for MSNBC and worked for Fox News, CNN, Current TV, The Young Turks and Al Jazeera America. Shuster's career at MSNBC included anchoring prime time breaking news coverage of the death of Michael Jackson, the passage in Congress of historic health care reform, and the deadly earthquake in Haiti.
