Iñaki Egaña
Ignacio "Iñaki" Egaña Azpeitia (born 24 October 1948 in Portugalete, Basque Country) is a Spanish musician and songwriter, active since the late 1960s in various rock and blues groups and as a solo artist. He is primarily a bass guitar player and vocalist. Career After starting his career with Los Tañidores, releasing a single "Cerrado por balance" in 1967, Egaña passed through a number of bands including Combination Five and Los Snobs. He joined the blues rock group Los Buenos in 1968, who enjoyed a period of commercial success in their native Spain, releasing four singles. Other members included organist Rod Mayall, brother of British blues icon John Mayall. In 1970, Egaña joined two ex-members of Los Brincos, drummer Fernando Arbex and Colombian guitarist Oscar Lasprilla to form Alacrán, a Latin rock trio following a musical path similar to that of American band Santana. Portugalete
Portugalete is a town lying to the west of Bilbao in the province of Biscay in the Autonomous Community of Basque Country, northern Spain. The town has 45,766 inhabitants (2019 census) and is part of Bilbao's metropolitan area. It is located at the mouth of the Estuary of Bilbao, on the left bank. Its land area is only 3.21 km², resulting in a population density of 15,908.4 persons/km², the fifth-most densely populated municipality in Spain (following Mislata, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Benetússer, and Santa Coloma de Gramenet). John Mayall
John Mayall, OBE (born 29 November 1933) is an English blues singer, musician and songwriter, whose musical career spans over sixty years. In the 1960s, he was the founder of John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, a band that has counted among its members some of the most famous blues and blues rock musicians. Personal life Born in Macclesfield, Cheshire, in 1933, Mayall grew up in Cheadle Hulme. He was the son of Murray Mayall, a guitarist and jazz enthusiast. ''Prohibido'', titled Forbidden in some countries, is a 1983 music album by the Spanish group Barrabás. It was the band's ninth album, and the last for several years before a return to recording in the 1990s. With the return of former members Iñaki Egaña, Miguel Morales and Tito Duarte, it was described by AllMusic's Andy Kellman as "a very slight improvement" over the previous two albums. Miguel Ríos
Miguel Ríos Campaña (born 7 June 1944) is a Spanish singer, composer, actor. He is one of the pioneers of rock and roll in Spain. Biography Ríos was born in La Cartuja, a neighborhood of Granada. The youngest of seven children, he went to work in a local bar at the age of fifteen after little formal education. His interest in rock and roll led him to participate in a song contest at Cenicienta 60 radio station, in which he and his friends won a prize for singing the Paul Anka song "You Are My Destiny". With his mother's permission (his father had died a few months earlier), he moved to Madrid in 1961 at the age of sixteen, where he recorded his first four songs. ''Wild Safari'' is a 1971 album by the Spanish group Barrabás, released outside Spain in January 1972. The album was released in some countries under the simple title ''Barrabás'', with a different sleeve design. It was also known as ''Música Caliente'' after its subtitle on the back sleeve. Santana (band)
Santana is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1966 by American guitarist Carlos Santana. The band has undergone multiple recording and performing line-ups in its history, with Santana the only consistent member. Fernando Arbex
José Fernando Arbex Miró (28 May 1941 – 5 July 2003) was an influential Spanish musician and songwriter from Madrid, who enjoyed success both with his own groups and also with other artists. While still in his teens, he was the drummer in Los Estudiantes, and in 1965 he formed the very successful pop band Los Brincos (often seen as the "Spanish Beatles") in which he also played drums. After that group split in the late 1960s, Arbex formed the progressive rock trio Alacran with Iñaki Egaña and Oscar Lasprilla. When Lasprilla left the band and moved to England, Arbex and Egaña founded the Latin disco and rock-orientated Barrabás, who went on to considerable European success throughout the 1970s. Los Brincos
Los Brincos (The Jumps) were one of the most successful Spanish rock bands of the 1960s, and were sometimes called the “Spanish Beatles”. The group was formed in 1964. The members were Fernando Arbex (drums), Manuel González (bass), Juan Pardo (guitar) and Antonio ‘Junior’ Morales (guitar). All four sang, and vocal harmonies were an important part of their sound. Early hits included "Flamenco" (1964), "Sola" (1965), "Tú me dijiste adiós" (‘You told me goodbye’ - 1965, B-side "Eres Tú". ). "Mejor" (1966) and "Un sorbito de champán" (‘A sip of champagne’ - 1966). After two years of success, Juan and Junior left the group to form a duo.
