The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, commonly referred to as SFR Yugoslavia or simply as Yugoslavia, was a country in Central and Southeast Europe. Dorotea "Doris" Budimir (, ; born 16 April 1961) is a Croatian singer-songwriter who has represented Yugoslavia in the Eurovision Song Contest 1986 with the song " Željo moja", finishing 11th with 49 points, and Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 with the song "Marija Magdalena", finishing fourth with 118 points. Vladimir "Vlado" Kalember (born 26 April 1953) is a Croatian pop singer, famous for his recognisable, husky voice. In the 1970s, he was the vocalist of the popular pop band, Srebrna Krila. Milan Popović (; born 29 October 1955), better known as Danijel Popović () or simply Daniel (), is a Montenegrin-Croatian pop singer. Biography Born to a Montenegrin father and a Belgian mother, Popović was raised in Titograd, but made his name in Zagreb, where he moved in 1977 to pursue a career in pop music. Yugoslavia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 27 times, debuting in 1961 and competing every year until its last appearance in 1992, with the exceptions of 1977–1980 and 1985. Yugoslavia won the 1989 contest and hosted the contest. Ljiljana Petrović was Yugoslavia's first entrant in the contest in and placed eighth.
