Izhar Peled
Yizhar Peled ( he, יזהר פלד; 1961 – 7 October 2023) was an Israeli police officer with the rank of Assistant Commissioner. He served as commander of the West Bank Border Police until his retirement in 2020. He was killed in the Kfar Aza massacre, the opening strike of the 2023 Israel–Hamas war. Biography Peled began his service in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the Paratroopers Brigade and rose to become an officer. In 1995, he was appointed commander of the Gaza Border Police Operations Center. and in 1996 was appointed Chief Operations Officer of the Central District Border Police. and in 1999 he was appointed Chief Operations Officer of the Gaza Border Police. Kfar Aza
Kfar Aza ( he, כְּפַר עַזַּה, ''lit.'' Gaza Village) is a kibbutz in southern Israel. Kfar Aza Massacre
On 7 October 2023, around 70 Hamas militants attacked Kfar Aza, a kibbutz about from the border with the Gaza Strip, massacring residents and 2023 Israel–Hamas war hostage crisis, abducting several hostages. Kfar Aza had more than 700 residents prior to the attack, and it took two days for the Israel Defense Forces to regain full control of the area. While the exact total of Israelis killed is yet unknown, as of 15 October 52 were listed as dead, and a further 20 or more were missing. The attack is notable for claims of brutality in the form of beheadings, dismemberment, and victims having been burned alive. Claims by Israeli media and government sources advancing that 40 babies had been decapitated went viral. While a massacre of civilians did occur, a few of the most lurid claims, including the baby decapitations, were later found to be false. The 35th Brigade ( he, חֲטִיבַת הַצַּנְחָנִים, ''Hativat HaTzanhanim''), also known as the Paratroopers Brigade, is an infantry brigade unit of paratroopers within the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and forms a major part of the Infantry Corps. Kidnapping And Murder Of Mohammed Abu Khdeir
The kidnapping and murder of Mohammed Abu Khdeir occurred early on the morning of 2 July 2014. Khdeir, a 16-year-old Palestinian, was forced into a car by Israeli citizens on an East Jerusalem street. His family immediately reported the fact to Israeli Police who located his charred body a few hours later at Givat Shaul in the Jerusalem Forest. Preliminary results from the autopsy suggested that he was beaten and burnt while still alive. The perpetrators subsequently claimed that the attack was a response to the abduction and murder of three Israeli teens on 12 June.
