Emma Haruka Iwao
Emma Haruka Iwao (born April 21, 1984) is a Japanese computer scientist and cloud Platform evangelism, developer advocate at Google. In 2019 Haruka Iwao calculated the then world record for most accurate value of pi (π); which included 31.4 trillion digits, exceeding the previous record of 22 trillion. This record was surpassed in 2020 by Timothy Mullican who calculated 50 trillion digits, but she reclaimed the record in 2022 with 100 trillion digits. The record was surpassed by a computer storage company in 2024, reaching roughly 105 trillion digits. She identifies as queer. Early life and education As a child, Iwao became interested in pi. She was inspired by Japanese mathematicians, including Yasumasa Kanada. Iwao Matsuda (general)
was a general in the Imperial Japanese Army, commanding Japanese ground forces in the Southwest Pacific during the closing months of World War II. Biography Matsuda was born in Ishikawa Prefecture. He graduated from the 28th class of the Imperial Japanese Army Academy in May 1916 and from the 36th class of the Army Staff College in November 1924 as a specialist in army logistics. He was promoted to colonel in July 1938, and assigned command of the IJA 86th Infantry Regiment, a newly formed regiment sent directly as a garrison force to Hangzhou in the Second Sino-Japanese War. In December 1940, he was transferred to Manchukuo as an instructor for the Kwantung Army school at Gongzhuling. In October 1941, Matsuda was appointed chief-of-staff of the IJA 23rd Division, at that time a border patrol unit in Manchukuo. is a former Japanese football player. His son Towa Yamane is also a footballer. Playing career Yamane was born in Hiroshima on July 31, 1976. After graduating from high school, he joined J1 League club Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 1995. He played many matches as offensive midfielder in 1997. However his opportunity to play decreased in 1998. In November 1998, he moved to Japan Football League club Oita Trinity (later ''Oita Trinita''). The club was promoted to J2 League from 1999. is a Japanese police officer who served as Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary for Administrative Affairs from 2008 to 2009, under Prime Minister Taro Aso. Iwao Takamoto (April 29, 1925 – January 8, 2007) was a Japanese-American animator, character designer, television producer, and film director. He began his career as a production and character designer for Walt Disney Animation Studios films such as '' Cinderella'' (1950), '' Lady and the Tramp'' (1955), and '' Sleeping Beauty'' (1959). is a professor of business administration and noted scholar of business ethics in Japan. He was born in 1956 in Ōita Prefecture, Japan. Taka graduated the College of Foreign Language, Reitaku University and completed a Ph.D. in 1985 at the Graduate School of Commerce, Waseda University. was a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party who was a member of the House of Councillors in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Gifu, Gifu, Japan, and graduate of the University of Tokyo, he joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry in 1960, attending the University of London while in the ministry. Leaving the ministry in 1981, he was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 1986.
