Ivy City–Fort Totten Line
The Ivy City–Fort Totten Line, designated Route E2, was a daily bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Fort Totten station of the Red and Green Lines of the Washington Metro and Ivy City (Okie & 16th Streets NE). The line ran every 20–30 minutes during weekdays, 30 minutes on Saturdays, and 60 minutes on Sundays. Trips took roughly 20 minutes to complete. Background Route E2 operated daily between Fort Totten station and Ivy City connecting passengers along South Dakota Avenue NE and 18th Street NE. Route E2 operated out of Bladensburg division at all times. It used to operate out of Western during the weekends until September 2021, and daily until June 2015. Fort Totten Station
Fort Totten station is a Washington Metro station in northeastern Washington, D.C. It is one of the four major transfer points on the Metrorail system. It acts as a transfer point between the Green and Red Lines. It is the last station on the Green Line in the District of Columbia before heading into Maryland and the second to last for the Red Line. It is one of two stations (the other being Arlington Cemetery) with three levels (the entrance and exit are on the second floor between the three lines), and is doubly unique in being the only multi-level transfer station built above ground and being the only such station to have island platforms on both levels, as opposed to just the lower level. The station's name comes from a Civil War-era fortification which itself was named after General Joseph Gilbert Totten, the Chief Engineer of the antebellum US Army. North Capitol Street Line
The North Capitol Street Line, designated as Route 80 is a daily bus route that is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Fort Totten station of the Red and Green lines of the Washington Metro and McPherson Square station of the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines of the Washington Metro. With late night and early morning trips extending to Foggy Bottom-GWU station of the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines of the Washington Metro. The line operates every 12 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes at night. Background Route 80 operates between Fort Totten station and McPherson Square station with late night and early morning trips extending to Foggy Bottom station providing service along North Capitol Street.
