Ivory Torrey Thigpen Jr. is an American politician. He is a member of the Democratic party. Early life and career Thigpen was born and educated in Mississippi, a graduate of Jackson State University. He is Pastor of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Columbia. Thigpen and his wife are co-owners of a chiropractic office. Political career South Carolina House of Representatives Thigpen is a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from the 79th District, serving since 2016. He served on the House Judiciary and Rules committee. In 2023, Thigpen chaired the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus. Mia McLeod
Mia S. McLeod (born August 19, 1968) is an independent American politician serving as a member of the South Carolina Senate from the 22nd district. She previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2011 to 2016. On June 3, 2021, McLeod announced her candidacy for the 2022 South Carolina gubernatorial election, becoming the first Black woman to run for Governor of South Carolina, generating national and international headlines. Early life McLeod is the daughter of the late James S. and Shirley J. McLeod. WRDW-TV (channel 12) is a television station in Augusta, Georgia, United States, affiliated with CBS and MyNetworkTV. It is owned by Gray Television alongside low-power, Class A NBC affiliate WAGT-CD (channel 26).
