Ivo is a local government area in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Towns include Akaeze and Ishiagu, home of the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu. Oil pipelines passing through the area have been attacked by armed vandals who broke the pipes and scooped up the oil. Environmental damage caused by spillage has also been reported. Ebonyi State ( ig, Ȯra Ebonyi) is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria, bordered to the north and northeast by Benue State, Enugu State to the west, Cross River State to the east and southeast, and Abia State to the southwest. Named for the Abonyi (Aboine) River—a large part of which is in the state's south—Ebonyi State was formed from parts of Abia and Enugu state in 1996 and has its capital as Abakaliki. The Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu (popularly known as "FCA Ishiagu") is based in Ishiagu, Ivo Local government area of Ebonyi State, Nigeria. The college promotes education, training and research into agricultural production, processing and technology. History The college which was established in Umudike in 1955 by the government of Eastern Nigeria, was amalgamated with the Agricultural Research Station, Umudike in 1964 and was taken over by the East Central State Government in 1970. In 1972, the Federal Government took over the college as part of the Federal Agricultural Research and Training Station (FARTS), and in 1976 the school became the training wing of the National Root Crops Research Institute, Umudike. Anyim Pius Anyim (born 19 February 1961) is a Nigerian politician who served as president of the Nigerian Senate from 2000 to 2003, he was Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) during Goodluck Jonathan presidency. Augustine Miles Kelechi Okechukwu (born 17 December 1992), popularly known as Tekno, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter.
