Ivica Đikić is a Bosnian writer and journalist. He was born 1977, in Tomislavgrad, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yugoslavia. Career Journalist career He worked as a journalist for few Croatian newspapers, and he left the most impact on far left newspaper ''Feral Tribune'' from Split where he worked in 1996. He started to work as a journalist from his 16, he was also active in ''Slobodna Dalmacija''. From 2001 he edited few Croatian magazines like '' Novi list''. Writing career He published his first novel in 2003 named ''Cirkus Columbia'', published by ''Feral Tribune''. He is also awarded with Meša Selimović Award for this novel. The 2010 movie ''Cirkus Columbia'' is based on his novel. The novel is set in writer's hometown Tomislavgrad, a small town in Herzegovina in early 1990s, just before Bosnian War. Stjepan Mesić
Stjepan "Stipe" Mesić (; born 24 December 1934) is a Croatian lawyer and politician who served as President of Croatia from 2000 to 2010. Before serving two five-year terms as president, he was prime minister of SR Croatia (1990) after the first multi-party elections, the last president of the Presidency of Yugoslavia (1991) and consequently secretary general of the Non-Aligned Movement (1991), as well as speaker of the Croatian Parliament (1992–1994), a judge in Našice, and mayor of his hometown of Orahovica. Mesić was a deputy in the Croatian Parliament in the 1960s, and was then absent from politics until 1990 when he joined the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), and was named President of the Executive Council (Prime Minister) of the Socialist Republic of Croatia (then still a constituent republic of the SFR Yugoslavia) after HDZ won the elections. ''Novine'' ( en, The Paper), is a Croatian drama series that has been broadcast on Hrvatska Radiotelevizija since 2016. The screenplay for it was written by Ivica Đikić, a journalist who had served as editor-in-chief of Rijeka's '' Novi list'' several years earlier. The story takes place in Rijeka, that describes the life and work of a journalist and editor of a fictitious ''Novine'', which is considered to be the last independent and "serious" newspaper in Croatia, that is the temptation that leads to them being taken over by the "raw" but power-bound construction tycoon, whose character is interpreted by Aleksandar Cvjetković. The series, which was also mostly filmed in Rijeka, was directed by Dalibor Matanić.
