Ive Jerolimov
Ive Jerolimov (born 30 March 1958) is a Croatian former professional footballer who played as a defender or midfielder. Club career Jerolimov was born in Preko near Zadar. During his club career he played for HNK Rijeka, Hajduk Split and Cercle Brugge. International career Jerolimov made his debut for Yugoslavia in a September 1980 World Cup qualification match against Denmark and earned a total of six caps. He was a non-playing member of their squad at the 1982 FIFA World Cup. His final international was a November 1982 European Championship qualification match away against Bulgaria. Preko
Preko ( lit. "Across") is a village and a municipality in Zadar County, Croatia. It is situated, as the name suggests, opposite of Zadar, on the island of Ugljan. Its old centre consists of typical Dalmatian architecture with numerous patrician family summer houses. According to the 2011 census, there are 3,805 inhabitants, 88% which are Croats. Sitting in the mountains above Preko, is the castle of St. Michael, built by Eastern Roman empire in the 6th century. The castle was rebuilt by the Republic of Venice in the 13th century. Its main purpose was control above channel of Zadar and group of islands behind the island of Ugljan. The castle was sacked by English crusaders on their way to the Holy Land, and by the Nazis in World War II. The high position of the castle made it the perfect lookout and listening station for the occupying Germans. Today, the castle is home to a telecommunications station. The Yugoslav Cup ( hr, Pokal Jugoslavije; sr, Куп Југославије; sl, Pokal Jugoslavije, mk, Куп на Југославија), officially known between 1923 and 1940 as the King Alexander Cup ( sh-Latn-Cyrl, Kup kralja Aleksandra, Куп краља Александра, and between 1947 and 1991 as the Marshal Tito Cup ( sh-Cyrl-Latn, Куп маршала Тита, Kup maršala Tita; sl, Pokal maršala Tita; mk, Куп на маршал Тито), was one of two major football competitions in Yugoslavia, the other one being the Yugoslav League Championship. 1985–86 Yugoslav First League
The 1985–86 Yugoslav First League season was marked by scandal and controversy due to allegedly wide match-fixing during the last week of fixtures. Summary After the last week was played, FK Partizan was crowned champion due to better goal difference than second-placed Red Star Belgrade. However, after weeks of public pressure and huge public outcry, on 20 June 1986, the Yugoslav FA presidency headed by Slavko Šajber decided to impose extraordinary measures that included the following: *voiding the already played week 34 matches of the 1985–86 season and ordering a replay of every single one (nine fixtures in total) *docking 6 points from each of the 12 clubs suspected of being involved in match-fixing, meaning they would start the following league season with -6 points Each club agreed to play the replay except for Partizan. Hajduk Split
Hrvatski nogometni klub Hajduk Split, commonly referred to as Hajduk Split () or simply Hajduk, is a Croatian professional football club based in Split, that competes in the Croatian First League, the top tier in Croatian football. Since 1979, the club's home ground has been the 34,198-seater Stadion Poljud. The team's traditional home colours are white shirts with blue shorts and blue socks. The idea to form a football club was started by group of Split students who were studying in Prague. After observing a game between Slavia and Sparta Prague, the group gathered at the U Fleků tavern and talked of creating a football club at home. When they returned to Split, they put their plan in motion and Hajduk was founded on 13 February 1911. The 1981–82 Yugoslav First League season was the 36th season of the First Federal League ( sh, Prva savezna liga), the top level association football competition of SFR Yugoslavia, since its establishment in 1946.
