Ivanka Pri Dunaji
Ivanka pri Dunaji ( hu, Pozsonyivánka) is a village and municipality in western Slovakia in Senec District in the Bratislava Region. History In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1209. In the centre of the village is a large rococo style house, built in the third quarter of the 18th century. It was altered at the beginning of the 20th century, by order of the Hunyadi family. The building has a combination of romanesque and gothic elements on its facade, including oriels, balconies, windows, and a polygonal tower with an Art Nouveau style top. The house was originally surrounded by an extensive French-style park. Geography The municipality lies at an altitude of 135 metres and covers an area of 14.258 km². Ivanka pri Nitre ( hu, Nyitraivánka) is a village and municipality in the Nitra District in western central Slovakia, in the Nitra Region. History In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1400. The Byzantine Monomachus crown was unearthed there in 1860 by a farmer ploughing in what was then Nyitraivánka in the Kingdom of Hungary. Geography The village lies at an altitude of 146 metres and covers an area of 14.909 km². It has a population of about 2415 people. Ethnicity The village is approximately 98% Slovak. Ivanka (horse)
Ivanka (foaled 5 March 1990) was an Irish-bred British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse. As a two-year-old in 1992 she won two of her five races, taking a minor stakes race on her debut and winning the Group One Fillies' Mile in September. She also finished second in the Racing Post Trophy and third in the May Hill Stakes. She sustained a fatal training injury in late 1992. Background Ivanka was a bay filly bred in Ireland by the Stackallen Stud. Her sire Dancing Brave was the most highly rated British racehorse of the 1980s winning a series of major races culminating in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. At stud, he was a modest success, siring the Group One winners Commander in Chief, White Muzzle, Wemyss Bight and Cherokee Rose before being sold and exported to Japan in 1991. Her dam Diamond Land won one minor race in Ireland and became an influential broodmare, being the grand-dam of Yeats and the Prix Royal-Oak winner Alcazar.
