Ivan Stanev
Ivan Stanev ( bg, Иван Станев, born 29 June 1959, died 1 December 2023) was an author, theatre and film director, scenographer and new media artist, who has been living in Berlin since 1988, and more recently in Paris. Biography Ivan Stanev was born in the city of Varna, Bulgaria. His mother, Donka Raikova, was a lawyer and poet and his father, Stanju Stanev, was an engineer and photographer. He enrolled into a German-language high school, while also studying intensively French, Russian and English. He got his degree in Theatre Directing from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia. While a student in the academy, he founded a clandestine avant-garde theatre group, which led to severe conflicts with censorship in Communist Bulgaria. Wonderloch Kellerland
Wonderloch Kellerland was an international project and exhibition space founded by René Luckhardt in his Berlin apartment in the beginning of 2010. The name relates to Dostoyevsky’s Notes from Underground (German: “Aufzeichnungen aus dem Kellerloch”) and Lewis Carroll’s Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. A role model was also Ludwig II of Bavaria, the “greatest Kellerloch-artist of all times”. The German magazine Art Das Kunstmagazin refers to Wonderloch Kellerland as the “boot camp of subculture”. Exhibitions Exhibitions included upcoming L.A. and Berlin based artists. Juliettes Literatursalon
Juliette's Literature Salon was a bookshop in Berlin, Germany, founded by author and performance artist Hartmut Fischer. In addition to the bookshop, it included a publishing house and an attached gallery. Between 1997 and 2003, the bookshop hosted events and served as a meeting place for creative artists and culture aficionados. The salon owes its name to the character of the same name in the novel ''Juliette'' by the Marquis de Sade, the Enlightenment ideas of Voltaire, and the Berlin salon hosts Rahel Varnhagen and Henriette Herz. Background The salon was preceded by Juliette's Literary Cafe in Tübingen, which was founded in 1987 by Fischer and Ekkehart Opitz.
