Ivan Francisco Mejia Yepes (born May 9, 2001) is a Colombian footballer who plays for the Al Qabila in UAE Third Division League. Early life Mejia began playing youth soccer in Columbia with Deportivo Cali. At age 14, he moved to Canada with his family, where he began playing with Mountain United FC. In August 2018, he joined the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy in August 2018. He later played at the senior amateur level with North Vancouver FC, BB5 United, and FC Tigers Vancouver. University career In 2022, he began attending the University of the Fraser Valley, where he played for the men's soccer team. On September 18, he scored his first goal in a 5–3 victory over the Saskatchewan Huskies. He scored his second goal on September 30 against the UBC Okanagan Heat. The 2024 League1 British Columbia season is the third season of play for League1 British Columbia, a pro-am league in the Canadian soccer league system. Seven clubs will participate in both the men's and women's divisions. Changes from 2023 Burnaby FC joined the league as a new expansion club in both the men's and women's divisions. However, both Nautsa’mawt FC and Victoria Highlanders FC departed the league, bringing the league down to seven clubs. The 2023 League1 British Columbia season was the second season of play for League1 British Columbia, a pro-am league in the Canadian soccer league system. Eight clubs participated in both the men's and women's divisions. Format The regular season was contested by eight clubs and ran from April 29 to July 23, 2023. Each team played 14 games in a double round-robin format with seven games at home and seven on the road. The top four teams advanced to the playoffs with the Championship Final held on the BC Day long weekend. The 2022 League1 British Columbia season was the inaugural season of play for League1 British Columbia, a pro-am league in the Canadian soccer league system. The league is the highest level of soccer based in the Canadian province of British Columbia except for fully professional clubs in the Canadian Premier League and Major League Soccer. Seven clubs participated in the 2022 season in both the men's and women's divisions. TSS FC Rovers defeated Varsity FC in the final to win the inaugural men's title and qualify for the 2023 Canadian Championship, while the Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Academy also defeated Varsity in the final to win the inaugural women's title.
