Iulian Lucian Cristea (born 17 July 1994) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back or a defensive midfielder for Liga I club FCSB. Club career After playing over one hundred matches for Gaz Metan Mediaș, in February 2019, Cristea moved to fellow Liga I club FCSB, and subsequently signed a five-year contract with them. Mediaș (; german: Mediasch, Transylvanian Saxon: ''Medwesch''/''Medveš'', hu, Medgyes) is the second largest town in Sibiu County, Transylvania, Romania. 2018–19 Liga I
The 2018–19 Liga I (also known as Liga 1 Betano for sponsorship reasons) was the 101st season of the Liga I, the top professional league for Romanian association football clubs. The season began on 20 July 2018 and ended on 2 June 2019, being the fourth to take place since the play-off/play-out rule has been introduced. Dunărea Călărași and Hermannstadt joined as the promoted clubs from the 2017–18 Liga II. CFR Cluj managed to defend the title for the first time in their history, while FCSB became the first team in the country to finish as runner-ups for four consecutive seasons in a row. 2020 Supercupa României
The 2020 Supercupa României was the 22nd edition of the Supercupa României, an annual football super cup contested by the winners of the previous season's Liga I and Cupa României competitions. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the match was postponed until 15 April 2021. The game featured CFR Cluj and FCSB, and the Ilie Oană Stadium in Ploiești hosted the competition for a second consecutive year. The Supercupa României ( en, Romanian Supercup) is a Romanian football championship contested by the winners of the Liga I and the Cupa României. It is usually played at the Arena Națională in Bucharest. The competition started off in 1994, with the first edition being won by Steaua București. In 2010, for the first time in its history, the Supercup was held even though CFR Cluj had been victorious in both the league and the cup in the previous season. At that time, they faced Unirea Urziceni, the Liga I runners-up. The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company with the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Divisions Since its inception in 1934, Liga II had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. The 2022–23 Liga I (also known as SuperLiga for sponsorship reasons) is the 105th season of the Liga I, the top professional league for Romanian association football clubs. The season started on 16 July 2022 and will end in May 2023. It is the seventh season to take place since the play-off/play-out format has been introduced, and CFR Cluj is the five-time consecutive defending champion club. After the conclusion of the regular season, teams will be divided according to their place to enter either the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs.
