Italy competed at the 2015 European Games, in Baku, Azerbaijan from 12 to 28 June 2015. 295 athletes (168 men and 127 women) competed in 23 sports. Medalists Archery Italy has qualified for three quota places in both the men's and the women's archery events at the Games, and as a result has also qualified for the team events. The Italian National Olympic Committee ( it, Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano, CONI), founded in 1914 and a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), is responsible for the development and management of sports activity in Italy. Petra Zublasing
Petra Zublasing (born 30 June 1989) is an Italian sport shooter who won the 10 m air rifle event at the 2014 World Championships. Career She first competed internationally in 2003, having begun sports shooting in 2001. She competed in the Women's 10 metre air rifle and the women's 50 metre three positions events at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She won her first World Cup event in 2013 in Granada. In 2014, she won her greatest title to date, winning the women's 10 m air rifle event at the 2014 World Championships. To win, she beat the then reigning Olympic champion Yi Siling by 0.3 points with the last shot of the event. Earlier that year, she had set a new world record in the women's 50 m three positions event at the World Cup event in Fort Benning, having set the previous world record at the 2013 World Cup Final in Munich. Karate competitions at the 2015 European Games in Baku were held from 13 to 14 June 2015 at the Crystal Hall complex in Baku. The competition consisted of twelve events, six in each gender - two ''Kata'' or technique events, and ten weighted ''kumite'' or combat events. Qualification Each National Olympic Committee will be allowed a maximum of 1 competitor per event. Each event will consist of eight competitors Qualification will be based on the 2015 European Karate Championships between 19 and 22 March 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey; the first six finishers in each event qualify for the European Games. Hosts Azerbaijan will be awarded an entry in each event. In addition, 12 'Universality' places will be allocated, one in each event, to ensure a spread of nations can compete.
