David Wheeler (born 20 March 1963), better known as David Thewlis (), is a British actor, author, director and screenwriter. Giancarlo Giannini (born 1 August 1942) is an Italian actor and voice actor. He won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor for his performance in ''Love and Anarchy'' (1973) and received an Academy Award nomination for ''Seven Beauties'' (1975). He is also a four-time recipient of the David di Donatello Award for Best Actor. Vittorio Gassman (; born Gassmann; 1 September 1922 – 29 June 2000), popularly known as , was an Italian actor, director and screenwriter. He is considered one of the greatest Italian actors, whose career includes both important productions as well as dozens of ''divertissements''. Riccardo Garrone (1 November 1926 – 14 March 2016) was an Italian actor, voice actor and director. Biography Garrone began his acting career in 1949 and attended the Silvio d'Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts. He appeared in more than 140 films from 1949 until his retirement in 2014. He made his debut in the film ''Adam and Eve'' directed by Mario Mattoli. He also worked in several theatre productions alongside other actors such as Vittorio Gassman, Diana Torrieri and Elena Zareschi. Fanny Marguerite Judith Ardant (born 22 March 1949) is a French actress and film director. She is the recipient of numerous accolades, including two César Awards and a Lumières Award. Ettore Scola (; 10 May 1931 – 19 January 2016) was an Italian screenwriter and film director. He received a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film in 1978 for his film ''A Special Day'' and over the course of his film career was nominated for five Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. Life and career Scola was born in Trevico, Avellino, Campania. From age 15, he became a ghostwriter. He entered the film industry as a screenwriter in 1953, and collaborated with director Dino Risi and fellow writer Ruggero Maccari on the screenplay for Risi's feature, ''Il Sorpasso'' (1962). The 48th annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from 11 to 22 February 1998. The festival opened with the Irish film ''The Boxer'' by Jim Sheridan.
