Alfred Santell
Alfred Allen Santell (1895–1981), was an American film director and film producer. Santell directed over 60 films, beginning in 1917, most of which were two-reel comedy short subjects for Hal Roach and other productions companies. Taking up feature films from about 1924, Santell worked for several major studios. In 1934, he was married to actress Jane N. Keithley; they remained married until her death. He left the business in 1947 after a contract dispute with Republic Studios. Santell died on June 19, 1981, in Salinas, California. Edward A. Scanlon (14 May 1890 – after 1914), also known as Ted Scanlan, was an English footballer who made 29 appearances in the Football League playing for Lincoln City. He played as an inside forward or left half. He also played non-league football in his native north east of England for Wallsend, North Shields Athletic, Jarrow and South Shields South Shields () is a coastal town in South Tyneside, Tyne and Wear, England. Louis Weiss (December 21, 1890 – December 14, 1963, Los Angeles) was an American independent producer of low-budget comedies, westerns, serials, and exploitation films. Early life Louis Weiss was born in New York City and left school after third grade (elementary school), according to the 1940 US Census. In 1907 he established a nickelodeon theater, launching a lifelong enthusiasm for motion pictures. In the 1920s he joined with his brothers Adolph and Max to form the Weiss Brothers production company, with money earned from a New York lamp-and-fixture store, phonograph sales, and ownership of a theater that developed into a small chain.
