Iszac Henig
Iszac Henig is an American swimmer specializing in short distance freestyle races, and an undergraduate at Yale University. He gained particular notice as part of the debate about transgender people in sports when he came out as a trans man, while continuing to swim on the Yale women's team and achieving All-America status at the NCAA Division I Championship. In 2022, he moved from the women's to the men's swim team at Yale, even though it would cost him wins in his final season. Early life Henig was born in , and was assigned female at birth. He grew up in Menlo Park, California, where he spent his time by the ocean, playing in the sand and looking at creatures in tide pools. Deadnaming is the act of referring to a transgender or non-binary person by a name they used prior to transitioning, such as their birth name. Deadnaming may be unintentional, or a deliberate attempt to deny, mock or invalidate a person's gender identity. Transgender and non-binary people seeking to avoid deadnaming may face administrative or bureaucratic obstacles to changing their names. Peninsula Athletic League
Peninsula Athletic League (PAL) is a high school athletic conference in California, part of the CIF Central Coast Section of the California Interscholastic Federation. It comprises 17 high schools generally around San Mateo County, California. There are also nine smaller schools, designated supplemental members, of which four are located in Santa Clara County. The seventeen sports offered are divided into different divisions depending on the strength of the school's program. In sports, a false start is a disallowed start, usually due to a movement by a participant before (or in some cases after) being signaled or otherwise permitted by the rules to start.
