Istaravshan District
Istaravshan District (russian: Истаравшанский район) or Nohiya-i Istaravshan ( tg, Ноҳияи Истаравшан), formerly Uroteppa (or Ura-Tyube) District ( tg, Уротеппа, russian: Ура-Тюбе), is a former district in the central part of Sughd Region, Tajikistan, between the border with Uzbekistan to the west and Ghonchi district to the east. Its capital is Istaravshan Istaravshan ( tg, Истаравшан; fa, استروشن; russian: Истаравшан) is a city in Sughd Province in Tajikistan. The jamoats of Tajikistan (russian: джамоаты, dzhamoaty; tg, ҷамоати деҳот, jamoati dehot, "village communes") are the third-level administrative divisions, similar to communes or municipalities, in the Central Asian country of Tajikistan.
