Istanbul Tanpınar Literature Festival
ITEF - Istanbul International Literature Festival, is an international literary event held in the city of Istanbul to focus on a variety of genres, and to bring together writers, publishers, literary translators, critics and journalists for a series of inspirational encounters. Tanpınar is the author of famous novels such as ''A Mind at Peace'', ''Song in Mahur'', ''Waiting In The Wings'', ''The Institute of Synchronized Clocks'', and ''Woman in the Moon''. ITEF - The Istanbul International Literature Festival establishes an annual forum for followers of Turkish and international literature. Geert Mak
Geert Ludzer Mak (born 4 December 1946 in Vlaardingen) is a Dutch journalist and non-fiction writer. Honors For his book ''In Europe: Travels through the Twentieth Century'' he received the Leipziger Buchpreis zur Europäische Verständigung (2008) and the Otto von der Gablentz Prize (2009). The French government also awarded him the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur (2008). Olga Tokarczuk
Olga Nawoja Tokarczuk (; born 29 January 1962) is a Polish writer, activist, and public intellectual. She is one of the most critically acclaimed and successful authors of her generation in Poland; in 2019, she was awarded the 2018 Nobel Prize in Literature as the first Polish female prose writer for "a narrative imagination that with encyclopedic passion represents the crossing of boundaries as a form of life". Norman Manea
Norman Manea (; born July 19, 1936), is a Romanian Jewish writer and author of short fiction, novels, and essays about the Holocaust, daily life in a communist state, and exile. He lives in the United States, where he is a Professor and writer in residence at Bard College. He left Romania in 1986 with a DAAD-Berlin Grant and in 1988 went to the US with a Fulbright Scholarship at the Catholic University in Washington DC. He won the 2002 International Nonino Prize in Italy. Nawal El Saadawi
Nawal El Saadawi ( ar, نوال السعداوي, , 22 October 1931 – 21 March 2021) was an Egyptian feminist writer, activist and physician. She wrote many books on the subject of women in Islam, paying particular attention to the practice of female genital mutilation in her society. She was described as "the Simone de Beauvoir of the Arab World", and as "Egypt's most radical woman". She was founder and president of the Arab Women's Solidarity Association and co-founder of the Arab Association for Human Rights. She was awarded honorary degrees on three continents. Mima Simić
Mima Simić (born Ana Marija Simić; 4 February 1976) is a Croatian writer, an awarded film critic, translator and an LGBTIQ+ media activist. She holds degrees in Comparative Literature and English Language and Literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb and Gender Studies from the Central European University. Simić was Croatia's first openly out LGBTIQ+ political candidate. Career Simić wrote for the ''Feral Tribune'' in the 2000s. Maureen Deidre Freely Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, FRSL (born July 1952) is an American journalist, novelist, professor, and translator. Ivan Hristov or Ivan Christoff ( bg, Иван Христов; born February, 1978 in Borovo, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian poet, and critic.
