Israel Silva
Israel Silva Matos de Souza (born 24 June 1981) is a former Brazilian footballer who played as a striker. Club career Silva started his career in Brazil but his best years as a soccer player came when he went to play in Guatemala. He started at Deportivo Teculután for whom he scored 34 goals and moved on to Xelajú MC and scored twelve goals taking them to a final and won by beating Marquense. Then CSD Municipal put their eye on him and he was transferred there in December 2007. He did not have the best season so the team let him go. Deportivo Jalapa decided to buy him and little by little he became the player he once was. An offer to play in Greece was presented and left to play in Kerkyra FC. Silva is Xelajú's all-time leader with 176 goals, helping the club win the league championship in 2012. Kerkyra FC, also known as AO Kerkyra ( el, Αθλητικός Όμιλος Κέρκυρα - Athlitikos Omilos Kerkyra), the ''Athletic Club Kerkyra'', is a Greek association football club based on the island of Kerkyra (Corfu), Greece. History It was formed in 1967 as "Kerkyraikos F.C." following a merge of three Corfu clubs ("Aris Kerkyras" est 1924, " Helespontos" est 1923 and "Asteras Kerkyras" est 1926). Guatemala National Football Team
The Guatemala national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Guatemala) represents Guatemala in men's international football and is controlled by the ''Federación Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala''. Founded in 1919, it has been affiliated to FIFA since 1946, and it is a member of CONCACAF. The team has made three Olympic tournament appearances, competing at the 1968, 1976, and 1988 Olympic Games. Guatemala have never qualified for the finals tournament of the World Cup, although they have reached the final round of qualification on four occasions. Guatemala won the 1967 CONCACAF Championship and the 2001 UNCAF Nations Cup. The team's best performance in a CONCACAF Gold Cup was in 1996, when they finished fourth.
