Israel Martín
Israel Martín Concepción (born 16 October 1974) is a Spanish professional basketball coach for Tindastóll of the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild karla. Coaching career Martín was hired as the head coach of Tindastóll in 2014. He became the fourth foreign born coach to guide his team to the Úrvalsdeild karla finals when he led Tindastóll to then finals in 2015 where they lost to KR. In May 2015, Martín was hired as the head coach of Bakken Bears of the Danish Basketligaen. With the Bears, Martín won the Danish Men's Basketball Cup and led the club to the Basketligaen finals where it lost to Horsens IC. After the season he was named the Basketligaen Coach of the year. He returned to Tindastóll in August 2016 as the head coach of the club's junior programs and an assistant coach to José Maria Costa. Úrvalsdeild kvenna; English: Women's Premier League, known as Subway deild kvenna for sponsorship reasons, is the highest basketball competition among women's clubs in Iceland. KR Men's Basketball
The KR men's basketball team, commonly known as KR or KR Basket, is a professional basketball club based in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is the men's basketball department of Knattspyrnufélag Reykjavíkur (English: Reykjavík Football Club) multi-sport club. It has won the Icelandic championship eighteen times, the most national championships in the men's top-tier league history. In 2017 the club played in FIBA Europe Cup for the first time since 2008. Arnar Guðjónsson (born 17 June 1986) is an Icelandic professional basketball coach. He is currently the head coach of Stjarnan men's basketball team and a former assistant coach of the Icelandic men's national basketball team. Playing career Arnar played one season in the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla with Skallagrímur, appearing in 8 games and averaging 1.9 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. The Íþróttafélag Reykjavíkur men's basketball team, commonly known as ÍR, is the men's basketball department of Íþróttafélag Reykjavíkur. It is based in Reykjavík, Iceland and was one of the pioneers of basketball in Iceland and one of the founding members of the men's Úrvalsdeild. From 1954 to 1977, the team won fifteen national championships. In 1964, it became the first Icelandic team to compete in a continental competition when it defeated the Collegians from Belfast, 71-17, in the first round of the 1964–65 FIBA European Champions Cup (now called EuroLeague).
