Israel participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Same Heart" written by Rami Talmid. The song was performed by Mei Finegold, who was internally selected by the Israeli broadcaster Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA) to compete at the 2014 contest in Copenhagen, Denmark. Meital Slominsky ( he, מיי פיינגולד, born 16 December 1982), known by her stage name Mei Finegold, also credited as Mei Feingold, is an Israeli singer. Her third-place finish in ''Kokhav Nolad 7'', Israel's version of ''Pop Idol'', launched her career in 2009. Finegold represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. Early life Finegold was born in 1982 in Rishon LeZion, where she still lives today. Her musical career started in school ceremonies, and she continued by taking singing lessons and learning to sing classical songs. Shiri Maimon (or Maymon, he, שירי מימון ; born ) is an Israeli pop/ R&B singer, TV show host and actress, who rose to fame as the runner-up in the TV show ''Kokhav Nolad''. Maya Bouskilla (or Buskila; he, מאיה בוסקילה; born November 9, 1977) is an Israeli singer. Early life Buskila was born Netanya, Israel, to a religious family of Moroccan-Jewish descent. She was discovered by a scout for Helicon Records, one of Israel's best selling labels, who heard her singing in a karaoke bar. Four years later, Roberto Ben-Shushan and Eyal Malul became her managers. Bouskilla claimed to still be religious when she was called up for mandatory service at the age of 18 and received a deferment.
