Israel At The 2020 Summer Olympics
Israel competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo with its largest contingent to date − a delegation of 90 athletes, 55 men and 35 women, who competed in 15 different sports. This was almost double the previous number of 47 athletes who represented Israel at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. The Games were also Israel's most successful to date, winning four medals, including two gold. At Tokyo, Israel marked its Olympic debuts in surfing (new to the 2020 Games), baseball (returning to the Games), archery, equestrian and marathon swimming. Inbar Lanir ( he, ענבר לניר; born 3 April 2000) is an Israeli Olympic judoka, world champion She competes in the under 78 kg weight category, and won a bronze medals in the 2021 Tashkent Grand Slam and the 2021 Tbilisi Grand Slam. Li Kochman (or Lee, he, לי קוכמן; born 18 April 1995) is an Israeli judoka. He competes in the under 90 kg weight category, and won a silver medal in the 2019 European Judo Championships. Raz Hershko ( he, רז הרשקו; born 19 June 1998) is an Israeli judoka. She competed for Israel at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Early life Her uncle is Israeli-born former judoka and current Head coach of the Israel women's national judo team Shany Hershko. She trains at the Wingate Institute in Netanya, Israel. Tohar Butbul ( he, טוהר בוטבול; born 24 January 1994) is an Israeli judoka. He competes in the under 73 kg weight category, where he won silver medals at the 2019 Judo World Masters and the 2021 European Championships, and won bronze medals in the 2017 Paris Grand Slam and 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Slam.
