Ismail Mire
Ismail Mire Elmi ( so, Ismaaciil Mire Cilmi), was a renowned Somali poet and one of the most senior Darawiish generals. He served within the movement's governing council (Khusuusi), often responsible for intelligence operations.Dictionary of African Biography - Volumes 1-6 - Page 170, Henry Louis Gates - 2012 - Regarding his poetry, one observer said his voice and poetic ability was "so great that he could sing his countrymen into peace or war". Military career Mire was born in 1862 in the vicinity of Buuhoodle to a Dhulbahante Bah Cali Gheri family. His life began in pastoralist and nomadic settings along the Haud plains which is the lifestyle he returned to towards the end of his life. Upon becoming a Darwiish, he began heading the army and military intelligence, he also supervised the maintenance of the numerous forts that were built by the Darwiish. Buuhoodle
Buuhoodle ( so, Buuhoodle, ar, بووهودل), also known as Bohotle, is the second largest city in the Togdheer region of Somaliland and also the capital of the Cayn region under Puntland. It is a prominent border town for movements of goods to and from Somaliland and the Somali Region of Ethiopia. The surrounding district is rich in both livestock and fledgeling agriculture. Territorial dispute Buuhoodle which is the second most important city for the Dhulbahante after Las Anod is under the control of local unionist militia. Hudun District ( so, Degmada Xudun) is a historical district in the eastern Sool region of Somaliland. Its capital lies at Hudun. The border between Hudun District and Las Anod District goes through the town of buur anod, also called buur aanood, a town that lies in between the towns of dib shabeel to the north, and daryaha (daryaha) to the south. Danot () is one of the woredas in the Somali Region of Ethiopia, named after its major town, Danot. Part of the Werder Zone, Danot is bordered on the south by Werder, on the west by the Korahe Zone, on the northwest by the Degehabur Zone, on the north by Somaliland, on the east by Boh, and on the southeast by Galadi. Overview Danot was important locally for its wells, which were used by the nomadic pastoralists with the advent of the dry season. Las Anod ( so, Laascaanood; ar, لاسعانود) is the administrative capital of the Sool region of Somaliland. Territorial dispute The city is disputed by Puntland and Somaliland. The former bases its claim due to the kinship ties between the Dhulbahante clan and the dominant clan in Puntland, the Majeerteen, whilst the latter's claim is grounded on the border of the former British Somaliland Protectorate.
