Isleta De San Juan
The Isleta de San Juan (Spanish for ''Islet of San Juan'') is a island in the San Juan Bay in the Atlantic coast of northern Puerto Rico. Home of Old San Juan, it is the site of the oldest permanent European settlement in Puerto Rico (1521), and the second oldest European settlement in the West Indies after Santo Domingo (1496). Due its strategic location in the Caribbean during the Spanish colonization of the Americas it is home to a city wall and a number of militaristic buildings such as El Morro Castle. Today it is also home to many of Puerto Rico's government buildings such as the territory's capitol building (El Capitolio). Caribbean Sea

Irving Rouse
Benjamin Irving Rouse (August 29, 1913 – February 24, 2006) was an American archaeologist on the faculty of Yale University best known for his work in the Greater and Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean, especially in Haiti. He also conducted fieldwork in Florida and Venezuela. He made major contributions to the development of archaeological theory, with a special emphasis on taxonomy and classification of archaeological materials and studies of human migration. Early life Benjamin Irving Rouse was born on August 29, 1913 in Rochester, New York, the son of Louise Gillespie (Bohachek) and Benjamin Irving Rouse. His maternal grandfather was Czech. El Boquerón (San Juan, Puerto Rico)
El Boquerón is a body of water located at the intersection of the Condado Lagoon and the San Antonio Channel in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This body of water separates the Islet of San Juan, where Old San Juan and Puerta de Tierra are located, from El Condado and the Isla Grande peninsula in Santurce. It is separated from the San Antonio Channel by the San Antonio Bridge and from the Condado Lagoon by the Dos Hermanos Bridge. This body of water contains coral reef and habitats important to plant and animal life; it is part of the bigger San Juan Bay National Estuary. These bodies of water are often visited by manatees. The Playita del Condado (Spanish for "Condado's little beach") is located at the eastern end of El Boquerón. Casa Blanca (San Juan)
Casa Blanca is a house museum located in Old San Juan within the historic colonial section of the capital of Puerto Rico. History Built in 1521, it served as the first fortification of the San Juan islet. It was the residence for Juan Ponce de León and his family, and also his cousins, although de Leon died in an expedition to Florida without ever getting to occupy the structure. It was used as the residence of his descendants, until the mid-18th century. As a fortification it served mostly as a refuge in times of attack from Taino rebels. The short rebellion ended peacefully after a commission of Caciques (Chieftains) negotiated peace. The house was built in wood but was destroyed by fire and rebuilt in stone and masonry. Juan Ponce De León
Juan Ponce de León (, , , ; 1474 – July 1521) was a Spanish explorer and '' conquistador'' known for leading the first official European expedition to Florida and for serving as the first governor of Puerto Rico. He was born in Santervás de Campos, Valladolid, Spain in 1474. Though little is known about his family, he was of noble birth and served in the Spanish military from a young age. He first came to the Americas as a "gentleman volunteer" with Christopher Columbus's second expedition in 1493. By the early 1500s, Ponce de León was a top military official in the colonial government of Hispaniola, where he helped crush a rebellion of the native Taíno people. The ''Casa de Contratación'' (, House of Trade) or ''Casa de la Contratación de las Indias'' ("House of Trade of the Indies") was established by the Crown of Castile, in 1503 in the port of Seville (and transferred to Cádiz in 1717) as a crown agency for the Spanish Empire.
