Islamic Sciences And Culture Academy
Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy (ISCA) is a scientific and research academy for issues in Islamic sciences. It is affiliated to the Islamic Propagation Office of Qom seminary. This academy together with Baqir al-'Ulum University form research and education departments of the Islamic Propagation Office of the seminary. Najaf Lakzaee, lecturer of political studies and the research deputy of the Islamic Propagation Office of Qom seminary, is the president of the Academy. History This academy used to be the research department of the Islamic Propagation Office of Qom seminary. In the new structure approved in 2001, it was decided to organize all research academies and institutes under one center. Finally, in 2005 in the supreme council for expansion of the ministry of Science, Research and Technology, four research centers were approved and the license of the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy was granted. Qom Seminary
The Qom Seminary () is the largest Islamic seminary (''hawza'') in Iran, established in 1922 by Grand Ayatollah Abdul-Karim Haeri Yazdi in Qom. It trains Usuli scholars. History Although big Shi'a academies existed in Qom dating back as early as 10th century CE, the hawza of the city became prominent at the time of the Safavids when Shi'a Islam became the official religion of Iran. The famous teachers of that era included Mulla Sadra and Shaykh Bahai. The modern Qom hawza was revitalized by Abdul Karim Haeri Yazdi and Grand Ayatollah Borujerdi and is barely a century old. There are nearly three hundred thousand clerics in Iran’s seminaries. Grand Ayatollah Hossein Vahid Khorasani currently heads the Qom Seminary. Baqir Al-'Ulum University
Muḥammad al-Bāqir ( ar, مُحَمَّد ٱلْبَاقِر), with the full name Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, also known as Abū Jaʿfar or simply al-Bāqir () was the fifth Imam in Shia Islam, succeeding his father, Zayn al-Abidin, and succeeded by his son, Ja'far al-Sadiq. His mother, Fatima Umm Abd Allah, was the daughter of Hasan, making al-Baqir the first Imam who descended from both grandsons of Muhammad, namely, Hasan and Husayn. Najaf Lakzaee
Najaf Lakzaee (born 1969) is a researcher of religious and political sciences. He holds a PhD in political studies from Imam Sadiq University. He has passed Islamic seminary education up to the level of ijtihad. He is the lecturer in department of political sciences of Baqir al-'Ulum University, was previous cultural deputy of the Ahl al-Bayt (a) World Assembly and is now the director of Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy. Life Najaf Lakzaee was born in Sistan in 1969. He spent his childhood and primary school in his birthplace. In 1982, he entered the seminary of Marham Sharifi and in 1985, he entered the Islamic seminary of Qom. Simultaneous with his studies in the seminary from 1982 to 2003, he obtained his BA, MA and PhD in political sciences, while he was already the director of the Research Center for Political Sciences and Thought.
